Gold Star Mothers Day

For those of you who aren't aware, this is a Gold Star banner. Many military families have these banners with a blue star, used when their trooper is serving in a combat zone. Should they make the ultimate sacrifice, the blue star is replaced with a gold one. For all the mothers who carry the heavy burden of this sacrifice - thank you and my God help your pain!

Good-byes are so hard. And you don't know if it's temporary. Or permanent.

Images such as these break my heart and make me appreciate all of our fighting men and women all the more. Thanks for educating me about gold star. I didn't know that.

Lovely tribute to our troops. My son is in the Air Force. I never want to even have to hang a blue star. Right now I am counting my blessings.
