Paper: Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Season of Style DSP
Ink: Real Red, Bermuda Bay

ColourQ Challenge #141

I can't believe I haven't played along with the ColourQ gang since the end of January!! It was challenge #121 - wow!! I guess the impending move has got me freaked out that I can't stamp with all my goodies on hand and given me the motivation to stamp while I can, lol!!! Hopefully, *fingers crossed*, we won't have the same issues with getting our household goods like we did arriving here!

My card for this week's challenge:
I saw this Reverse Spotlighting technique on Debbie's blog this morning and just knew I had to try it for myself. And when I saw the ColourQ's color choices this week, everything just fell together! I love it when that happens!!

Side View
I colored the images with Stampin Up markers (Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue & Lucky Limeade), and on the spotlighted sections, I used glitter. I love how all the colors coordinate with the different products in the Stampin Up line!! This bold pattern really 'pops' off the card. I didn't like all the white areas, so I lightly sponged it with Bashful Blue. Too much white kind of freaks me out, lol! I couldn't figure out how to add ribbon without overpowering the project, so for once, there's no ribbon on one of my cards.

Inside

Recipe:
Stamps: Floral Fillers, Butterfly Prints
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Lucky Limeade
Ink: Night of Navy, Lucky Limeade
Accessories: Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue & Lucky Limeade markers, Lg. Flower punch, butterfly punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, dazzling diamonds glitter, ribbon banner nestie, top note die, sponge

If you'd like to play along this week, click on the ColourQ badge at the top of this post! Good luck!

Merry Monday Challenge #18

This is late. As in, way late!! But, I had the very best of intentions, lol! 85% of this card was completed by the Tuesday of the challenge week. All I had to do was color the central image. But then "stuff" happened and I never came back to it. And it sat on my desk. And sat, and sat, and sat! I got really tired of seeing it, so I finally just finished it! As you can see, I turned the layout on it's side, and I'm really happy with how it turned out! You'll notice I actually HAD the same ribbon used in the layout too! And now I have another Christmas card to add to my stash. I have soooo many more of these challenge cards to catch up on....but I'll get there....eventually!

My card for this challenge:
Recipe:
Stamps: Ski Tilda, Warmest Wishes
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Christmas DSP
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Old Olive, Handsome Hunter, Always Artichoke, Copic markers
Accessories: SU Label Framelit, modern label punch, nordic ribbon, dazzlin diamonds glitter, dimensionals, white gel pen

I actually had this card made in time for the challenge, but not photographed or posted! *sigh* I really need to get my groove back on doing these challenges!!!! But again, yet another card completed for my Christmas Collection, right???

Merry Monday Challenge #9

Now this card actually was finished on time!!! But....not photographed or posted, lol! Will I make it on time this week???? Only time will tell! AND I still have #6 & #7 to do! *sigh* A stamper's work is never done.....

My challenge card:

I was really happy with the way this card was going until I got to the top part. It just didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, and the more I fussed with it, the less I liked it! So I think this card will require a bit more "tweeking" until I'm satisfied with it. I'm just tired of fussing with it for now.

Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Season, Christmas Punch
Paper: Crumb Cake. Cherry Cobbler, Christmas DSP, Old Olive
Ink: Versamark, Old Olive
Accessories: gold embossing powder, Pool Party ribbon, sheer gold ribbon, pearls, holly leaves, dimensionals, edgelit scalloped border, curly label punch

I'm going to work on #10 today (current challenge), and then backtrack some more! Wish me luck!!!

Merry Monday Challenge #8

Another pretty card that's too late to enter the challenge, lol! I had high hopes of finishing this one in time - hence skipping Challenges #6 & 7 - but no such luck!! Darn!!! This is another one that I really love too!

My challenge card:

Stamps: Tilda with Mistletoe, Santa Baby, Occasional Quotes
Paper: Soft Suede, Cryogen white, Magnolia DSP
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Oval nestie, scalloped oval nestie, ribbon border punch, 1/8" Cherry Cobbler ribbon, Cherry Cobbler button, linen thread, dimensionals

And on to the next challenge...

Merry Monday Challenge #5

It's obviously wayyyyy too late to enter my card for the challenge, (it's from before the Emilys came to visit, lol!), but I wanted to do every challenge and keep up with making my Christmas cards!!! I'm really happy with the way this one turned out too!

My challenge card:
