Paper Players & Play Date Cafe Challenges

It seems like forever since I've participated in any challenges!! It's just been one thing after another, and I've either been too sick, too tired, too sick-and-tired, or too busy to stamp!! Not a good situation, you know?!?!? So it feels really good to be "back", lol!

And to make my life that much easier, I've combined two challenges (one sketch, one color), to make it a much smoother transition to stampin' bliss....

The Paper Players...

...and the Play Date Cafe challenge!
PDC doesn't label colors like some other challenges do, so you have to figure out exactly what colors you want to do on your own. SU doesn't make a light blue-green (mint) color, so I picked out my yellow and coral colors, and found a green which complimented those!

My challenge card:
It really ISN'T day-glow orange!! Honest!

But it sure looks that way in these photos!

Recipe:
Stamps: Cute by the Inch, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Strength & Hope (inside)
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz
Accessories: Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon, 1" square punch, 1 1/4" sq. punch, nesties, dimensionals, sponge daubers, daisies #2 die (for reverse masking)

A much simpler card than I normally do, but I love the oh-so-soft look of the reverse masking sponging. What do you think?

Paper Players Challenge #28

It's that time again!! This will be the final challenge for the year on The Paper Players - so really make it count! For this challenge it's your choice of Favorite Color Combos for a particular card type. What screams "Christmas" for you? Or "sympathy"? Or "birthday"? Or "anniversary"? Pick your favorite color combos for a particular type of card and link up with us this week. Easy peasy!!

I would like to once again thank Lesley and the Paper Players Design Team for welcoming me back again this month as a Guest Designer!! It's always an honor to be asked to join a team. Having others acknowledge and appreciate your work really makes the time spent on projects very rewarding. These ladies have be doing this for a lot longer than I have, and their acceptance of my work has been thrilling. Thanks so much, Girls!!

My card this week:
Believe it or not in this very pink castle....my favorite color is actually yellow, lol! I love shades of yellow together the most - so warm, happy and inviting! So my color combo is shades of yellow (More Mustard, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron) for a friendship card. I also love monochromatic cards (same color family only on a card), as well as combinations of embossing.

Recipe:
Stamps: Elements of Style
Paper: More Mustard, So Saffron
Ink: More Mustard
Accessories: Daffodil Delight ribbon & button, glue dots, clear embossing powder, dimensionals, sq. lattice embossing folder

The detailing on this stamp set is extraordinary!! This is truly one of my all-time favorite stamp sets! It can be used for ANYTHING and it's simply gorgeous!!

I hope you will want to play along this week! Just click on the badge at the top of this post, and link up YOUR favorite color combo!!

Paper Players Challenge #27

I was asked by Lesley to again be a Guest Designer for the Paper Players! Wooo Hooo!!! It's always nice to be asked! This week's theme is easy - CHRISTMAS! It can be a card, a scrapbook page, 3-D item - whatever your little ole heart desires!!

I, of course!, made a card!:
Punch art is fun and easy! And with Stampin' Up's designer paper - it winds up looking so lovely too! I saw someone else had made these too adorable mittens out of oval punches and had to try it myself! Cute!!

Stamp sets: SU Tags Til Christmas and Northern Hearts
SU colors: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: small oval punch, large oval punch, scalloped circle punch, Old Olive satin ribbon

I liked it so much, I included it in my 5 for $5 Stamp Club and all the girls loved making their own - ALL BEGINNERS!!! WTG girls!

Why not pop over to the Paper Players and give this challenge a shot?!? You'll be able to cross off another project or card off your to-do list while you're at it!
