Who wants to see our house???

Although we only arrived yesterday, and Thomas hasn't even begun the in-processing checklist....we went to the Housing Office anyway to see if we could see our reserved house. They said yes!, and handed us the house key!!! It's about a 15-18 minute drive north from the Grafenwohr post. And what a lovely, scenic drive it is! Lush, rural farming communities and quaint German houses! We "ohhh'ed" and "ahhh'ed" the whole way!

Here we are! Bella is standing just to the right of the garage/driveway and next to the fence of the front yard. We walk up the walkway to get to the front door.
She's happy!

Our house!! 6A
Downstairs windows and door (far right), and upstairs two smaller bedroom windows.

Greeeeen grass!! No crabgrass!

Opening our door for the first time!

Note: I meant to take photos as I saw each room, but sort of forgot some in my excitement, lol! After you enter the front door, there is a half bath to your right. Forgot that part!! To the left is the kitchen...
View from the door
(Notice that glass top stove?? YAY!)

LOTS more counter space than Italy!

Cupboards are fully adjustable!! YAY!

Love my beautiful, brand new kitchen!
ALL appliances are new as well!!!

Other side of the room is the dining area. This is a HUGE room!

Livingroom
I didn't take as many photos as I thought I had! This is a nice, large room!

Our front view

Screened door to patio area

Between the livingroom and kitchen is this closet & shelf space!
Opposite this are the stairs going up and down.

Going upstairs we see all three bedrooms, and 2 full baths. Every room, except the bathrooms, are fully carpeted. So nice!!! At the top of the stairs is the main bath, master bedroom to the right, and two smaller bedrooms to the left.
The main bathroom has a HUGE tub:

Double sinks:

AND a full shower stall!

Our bedroom:
View from doorway. Two large closets (immediate left and out of frame on the right). You see the skylight which is so cool and also has a screen AND the metal blinds as well! I didn't get the other side of the room, but it will make more sense when we have our furniture set up, lol!

Thomas demonstrating how the screen works!

Master Bath

Second (slightly smaller) bedroom:
AND MY NEW STAMPING STUDIO!!!

You can see the built in shelving unit, and the closet has a shelf as well as a removable rod, to create even more storage space!!! YAY!!! Wonderful light too!

Bella's room
Again, didn't get all the angles because we were all talking at once, discussing what would go where, etc!

What our stairs look like:
This is at the basement level

Laundry room
GI-NORMOUS!!!!

Smaller storage room
Sits between the laundry room on the left, and the super huge room that we thought originally would be my Stamping Studio on the right. However, there was only ONE outlet in that room, and it's up the wall next to the light switch!!! That was not going to work for my needs. So the huge room, which I apparently didn't photograph!, will be the guest bedroom and playroom. We'll have our extra tv and stand in there, and perhaps some Bella toy overflow, lol! It's really a great room, except for the lack of outlets.

Next house over from ours.

View from larger kitchen window!

View from Bella's bedroom window.

I could get used to this!!!

We might have to wait a bit to move in. But...*fingers crossed*...we should be in by the end of the month, WITH all our stuff!!! Internet can take up to a month to hook up because it's a brand new residence. We will start the paperwork tomorrow. What do you think??

I think I want to live in a house like that!

That is totally amazing! Everything is so spacious and clean. And the views are not of just houses. Why does it take so long for your furniture to catch up to you? That would drive me crazy.

Oh you hit the jackpot with this house!! Does it make you forget all about Ft. Gordon? :) The grass is so lush and green. Will they take care of it for you or will Thomas have to mow? And you have so much space. How unusual for a European home! Your views are gorgeous and I'm so jealous. So, will this be a full 3 year tour or just a stop on the way to somewhere else?

I will pray that your furniture gets there ASAP. Tour move to Italy was one giant clusterfuck, so this HAS to go smoother.

By the way, my friend, Sarah, is at a base in Germany, too. Her blog is here: http://caiafacraziness.com. She can tell you all about that part of Europe. She's been practically everywhere now. LOL
