No, it's not messed up. In fact it's quite normal. I do the same. Clean like made for company and then proceed to say "Excuse the mess" as they enter. As long as all the important places are clean (kitchen and bathrooms) and the dust bunnies are at least in hiding, then things will be fine. As a friend once told me... "I'm not coming to see your house, I'm coming to visit YOU!"
