Volksfest in Bayreuth!

Even though the weather has decided to be cold, cloudy and rainy this "spring", it's still the season of Fests!!! And Germans never let a little rain get in the way of their fun. Or drinking, lol! We were smart this time and left early for this one, and got great parking. This was a bit smaller than the last one we went to in Weiden, but it was still a lot of fun!

I saw this when we first walked in:
Cigarette machines are quite common in Europe, although we haven't seen them in the States for ages. I can tell you from past experience that the coffee in these things are awful!!!

This ride was so nicely decorated with Bavarian themes!

Really, Bella??? It wasn't that scary!!

She's all smiles now though!

It may be a "baby ride" but she still loves 'em!!!

This is why Bella always has her own sodas!!! She puts her whole mouth on the thing and leaves 'floaties" - blech!!! We had burgers and fries and Thomas had some brats. All kinds of rather dodgy looking fish sandwiches were the most popular thing, but I couldn't stand the sight of them, or the smell!!! Many looked rather raw too!

Bella was SUPER brave and decided she wanted to try this out! She LOVED it!!!

Thomas won her this hedgehog while playing a shooting game!

And I won her this pink seahorse (hard to tell in pic!) throwing darts. I'm good!!!

I need to try my hand at some punch art to make my own Mario!

Perfect action shot of the big slide!! I have two kids in this picture, lol!

Talk about brave!! Bella decided she really wanted to go on this ride!! It went really high up and went rather fast too. The first half of the ride she had her eyes closed, but then she opened them and was laughing like crazy!!!! This fest was the first time she'd ever gone on rides that weren't just for very little kids! She's growing up!

Doesn't Thomas just look thrilled to be driving a PINK car?? Bella picked, of course! They went again later and drove a glittery gold one.

Fun times in the funhouse!

Bella kept dancing to the music that was playing and I caught some of it on tape. She stopped here when someone noticed her and smiled. Usually she loves an audience, but she turned shy this time. She had been really rockin' out before, lol!

She wanted to ride this because of Sissy's work in Florida with the space shuttle!

Bella got talked into riding this with Daddy! She did get scared, lol!

We walked around and around and got a lot of good exercise. Before we left Bella got her cotton candy and I found soft serve pistachio ice cream!!! Yummy eating for the ride home!

Last Friday Bella's class had a nature walk field trip and I snagged these photos off of a friend's Facebook page. (Thank you, Amanda!)
Bella checking out the tree's rings.

Oh look! Nature!

How fun! I think that slide picture is the BEST! Totally classic! It must be so nice for your kids who live far away to be able to check out your blog and still feel connected to your life. You do a great job of blogging your experiences. And I love it when other people take pictures of field trips and such! :)

I know when I follow by email I can get posts a day later, so maybe this one just hasn't made it to my inbox yet because it is a big one? Or there was a glitch? Who knows. So glad I was searching for your FlitterGlu video! :)
