Hey! Guess what?? WE'RE MOVING!!!

Yeah, really! In about seven weeks. *gulp* Although I'm really going to miss my beloved Italy, I guess I'm not going to garner much sympathy for getting "only" two years here, instead of three. But there's still so much to do and see...and it will have to wait, because time (and finances) aren't going to allow us to take any more trips! *another gulp*

So what's the rush? Thomas has been selected for a First Sgt position that needs to be filled immediately. After a lengthy interview process in Germany today, they offered him the position.  Although he won't be paid as an E-8 until his sequence number comes up (around Sept/Oct we're guessing), he will be "frocked" and will wear the rank on his uniform, with his "diamond". Yeah, he's pretty stoked about all this at the moment. Me? I'm sort of just in shock. I was pretty sure this was coming, but now that it's here and not a "maybe, what if" situation, I can see I wasn't really prepared for it, lol! Moving. Again. Moving. Nope, sorry - I just can't process all that entails today!!

Anyway, I suppose you wanna know where, huh? Well it's here:
Grafenwoehr, Germany!

It's about a 7 hour drive from where we are now, so not too terribly far. Although my daughter Alex was there with her husband and they get tons of snow in the winter. Alex always said that it was gorgeous and that we'd love it there! Brand new housing too!!! Bella heard snow and she's all for it now, lol! Also she thinks staying at hotels is dream living, so that settles the matter as far as she's concerned! And the food - ohmygosh, the food! ALL the sourkraut in fried bread bowls I can eat!!!!! (Which is a lot, but anyway.)

Elvis Presley was stationed here in 1958. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but I thought I'd throw it out there! I guess I don't sound super excited. I am! I wanted to stay in Europe, and now we're closer to The Emilys. But...moving. Again. All my shit stuff packed up, out of my sight and control, for who knows how long - again. We will be driving there, so you can bet I'll have that truck packed up within an inch of it's life!! To include the must haves: cooking stuff, stamping stuff, electronic stuff. Moving. Ugh. I'll be more excited tomorrow. Really.

Today? I'm just gonna think about all this....tomorrow.

How exciting and daunting all at the same time, Jeannie! While I really don't remember what that's like. . .the moving. . .since we've been here at Benning for 8 years, I'm excited for you that you're going to get to experience another place. Praying it all goes smoothly!

Exciting and frustrating at the same time-huh? We are nomads right now with home base being my mom's (yes at 45 I moved back home with my mom;). How cool to be able to see the world, but I know how you feel about packing...ugh:)

I hate the actual packing up and moving, but I always love settling into a new place once I'm there. This will be quite an adventure, that's for sure. Congrats to Thomas!! :)

What a blessed woman you are to live in some really cool places. At least the military will pack you up and move you. Right?

That is so exciting all the way around! All of the news experiences... again! I cannot imagine packing up again, though. But I know you are up for the challenge!!! I'd have to definitely keep my stampin stuff with me rather than have it packed up.

Can't wait to hear/see more

Though I'm not a fan of moving, I think I could handle transferring to Germany! Just soak it all in, Jeannie, and let the adventure begin!

Woo-hoo! You get to use your German again! I bet you have an idea what you might be getting into and Germany is still close to a lot of neat places to visit. I would not mind living there a bit for a few years. Not a bit. Although the whole packing again thing ... not so much. Good luck with that!! Seriously, packing sucks. Unpacking almost is worse! Sending lots of positive thoughts and vibes for the move.

My kids will be out of school in a week and then I'll get caught up on things like blogging. I STILL have to go back and see your last adventure. I love how you document everything so well. So wonderful and interesting!

Seriously happy for you! I may have to send you some cash for some goodies I have seriously been craving! I can't not wait to see the trip pictures from there as well.
