Easter Time!

Easter was a very low key affair this year for us. Everyone was pretty tired, and I was still suffering from my spring pollen allergies. And yes, they are worse here than in Georgia - go figure! At least the scenery is a lot better, lol!
We still made time to decorate eggs. I think they are getting really cheap with their kits, as the color doesn't "stick" well to the eggs, and forget about using the stickers they enclose!!! I think I'm going to make my own colors with food coloring next year.

But The Bella was pleased and that's really all that matters! But she doesn't like the yolks, the silly!

I learned how to make candied pecans! SO easy! SO delicious!!! We found 1 lb bags of fresh pecans at the commissary and I immediately remembered them from Georgia. But I didn't know how to make them. Thomas wisely reminded me of Google (and the delicious chestnuts I made from there!), and you can see the results!!! Go HERE, if you'd like the recipe too! Note: Highly Addictive!!!!

 Happy Easter, Bella!

Easter Egg Hunt!
As you can see, Bella was once again severely deprived, lol!

So it was pretty great! Although, in hindsight, that Chipmunk Sing-A-Long DVD was probably a mistake. (OY!) Bella never did get dressed, and when I showered, around 3pm, I got back into fresh jammies. Instead of the usual ham feast, we had "Easter Pizza", lol! My kinda Easter!

Easter pizza doesn't sound bad to me at all! I hope you are feeling better soon. Allergies are awful to fight with.

Love her smile, she looks thrilled with her loot! :)

I can't imagine any place being worse than Georgia as far as allergies are concerned. The pollen count lately has been out of the roof! I can barely breathe at night! Hope you can find some relief...there's nothing more miserable! So glad that Bella was treated so well by the Easter Bunny (wink, wink!)!

That toothless grin is priceless. Bella sure had a lot of eggs to find. The Easter Bunny was really good to her again this year.

Easter is wonderful, but I agree that it is hard to find dye for the eggs that is deep and vibrant. :( Luckily children are pretty happy with whatever!

Loved watching the videos - living in the Midwest, Easter was often cool and rainy so we always did the egg hunts inside. Another fun thing (learned from my sis and BIL) is a 'scavenger' egg hunt. We had some larger plastic eggs - about 6 for each girl - and I would put notes in them. They would find one during the egg hunt and the note would be a clue as to where to find the next one. It sent them all over the house - even back into their own rooms some times. The last egg was usually in a closet or somewhere and it was in their Easter basket of goodies - PEZ candy dispensers, sidewalk chalk, jump rope, barettes - whatever was 'springy'.

I'm the same way, I don't particularly care for the yolks either. There's just something so *shudders* ~ick~ about them.

I saw a couple different ways to dye eggs this year. One involved using cheap silk scarves. Another had you crack the eggs before dipping so the color showed up on the white itself. I'll have to dig in my facebook and see if I can find them...
