My Sunday Blessings

There's a lot to be grateful for this week! While uploading my pictures, I found I had a few shots taken previously...
Bella about to enjoy a homemade, from scratch raspberry roll.
Yummy!
I made the dough in my bread machine and then rolled it out, filled it and baked them in muffin pans. So easy, so delicious!

We've also been getting lots of Good Mail!! Thank you to everyone who has sent cards and "love packages"!!!!
Allyson sent a big box of treats, including this Hello Kitty snack for The Bella!
She loved, loved, loved it!
Thank you Allyson!!!

Pam sent The Bella this Wii game!
Now...if she would just eat her dinner and get her homework done, she could play it! At least the XBOX and Wii are all set up AND we figured out which buttons we have to push to get it all to work. Electronics - oy!! Thank you sooo much Pam!

Lynn sent a lovely package with her beautiful handmade potholders AND my cilantro seeds!!! I'll be picking up a pot this week and to grow them inside. I can hardly wait! Thank you Lynn!!
I've had this sunflower canister for while now, and used it to store dark chocolate peanut M&Ms inside. Allyson sent them to me along with coconut ones. Yes, european chocolate is better most of the time, but I was just hankering for these, lol!

*****************************

Unpacking - oh the joys!! Right now our house is looking like a particularly bad episode of Hoarders, but we're getting there. We've made more progress downstairs than upstairs, but we spend more time down here. Bella has most of her toys unpacked, although organization will have to wait until she's at school and outta my buttcrack, lol!
The Kitchen
You wouldn't BELIEVE how much time I spent in here yesterday!!!! Tons and tons of boxes to unpack and I have no clue really where everything is going to go. I'll decide on one thing, only to find it won't fit, and then it's back to the drawing board!
I have very, very little counter space and that means I'm going to have to get creative. It also means there is tons of stuff to trip over on the floor right now. I'm really tired of just two nights of take out dinners so I HAVE TO get it all done today so I can make dinner, lol! I also have to make bread for Bella's lunch tomorrow. You know, in my spare time...
One hot mess
In the process of changing my mind.
Dining area
Chest freezer loaded up with stuff that got dumped on top! I had to set up a card table just to unpack more stuff!! It's crazy!
This truly hurts my OCD!!! Nothing organized, piles of stuff everywhere, and only two hands, lol!
Bookshelf has books on it, but not the right ones and no rhyme or reason to it - just OUT of a box and that's progress! My new desk and my computer all set up. It's so weird not to be on a laptop anymore, but a good weird. My screen seems so huge, lol!
Livingroom area
XBOX & Wii are hooked up and cords are hidden this time. MUCH better set up than we've done before. You can see most of our furniture has it's own piles of stuff on it still!
We have just a fraction of the wall space we've had before, so there will be many, many pictures put into storage. I love my art and family photos!! But that will have to all wait because I have to get everything else finished first.
Upstairs Hallway
Bella's playroom to the left, her bedroom to the right and my Stamping Studio straight ahead.
Many boxes were labeled "toys" and that caused tons of havoc in unpacking. Just about everything that was upstairs in our old house was labeled "toys", and even Bella isn't THAT spoiled, lol! So Thomas opened many boxes that were everything under the sun, but NOT what The Bella was looking for! This room will be so cute....when it's finished!
Stamping Studio
This just makes me want to cry!!! My WorkBox was damaged (*CUSSWORDS!*), but I think I will be able to fix it. This will sadly have to wait until everything else is done as it's only for me and not "necessary" in the grand scheme of things. So....I will hustle, hustle, hustle so I can get to it quicker!!! Because I will have tons of work to do when I finally get up there before I can play. I WANNA PLAY!!!! LOL!
My bedroom
Another hot mess. I have an over the door shoe rack, but the doors are too thick and I can't use it. So I have a ton of shoes and no where to put them yet. We are also severely handicapped on closet space. I haven't figured that one out yet either. But we have our beds and enough room to move. For now, that will just have to be good enough until I can figure out which box the movers put my magic wand!!!
My dresser, my jewelry box and my vanity table....buried under stuff!
Bella's room
Still some boxes in here too and lots needing organizing. But it's getting there and she's just so happy to have her things back too!
She now uses her laptop at her desk and she loves it! WiFi works great in our concrete house which is pretty amazing. It's much faster and reliable now that it's hardwired in the house. Love it!
Bella waking up!
This is how much she loves her bed!! Somewhere, in a box, is her dust ruffle and canopy curtains. But she has her bed and her Disney nightlight globe, so she's sleeping like a champ!

So that's the progress we've made so far. Really it's about 24 hours, from 7:30 pm Friday night to 7:30 pm Saturday night. I should have had my camera handy to SHOW all the boxes that were stacked up in every nook and cranny!! It was crazy!! The whole house pretty much looked like my stamping room, lol! Here's to another productive day!

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe how much sorting out you have to do. Although we only moved to this house eighteen months ago one quickly forgets the inevitable chaos. I will not expect to see you blogging much for awhile, you must be so happy everything is now with you.

Oh boy! I don't envy you the unpacking! I can see the chaos and feel it in your voice. I wish I could come and help you out. I know how distressing this can all be. But you are in and a lot has been accomplished. So good on you!!!
Bella looks so happy!! Soon this will all be a memory!

As many times as I have moved I'm always amazed by how much time it takes to actually unpack and organize...and it never ever seems to fit in the new space at all! Considering that you have been waiting for your things and waiting and waiting...it looks like your doing pretty good!

Yikes!! That's all I can say! So many boxes to unpack! *scream!*
Good luck, girl!! You can do it! Take it one box at a time and you'll see how everything will fall into its place... one box at a time... don't overwhelm yourself. ^_^

MUCH LOVE!

Ugh, what a job. I pray that Italy will be truly worth it.

I literally have less than 3 feet of counter space in my kitchen. It's the one room of the house we have never re-modeled. The kitchen itself is big, but there is only 1 tiny counter area, I hate it!

I hope the Bella gets to play the game soon. At least she's sleeping well!

Step by step... you will get there! I have not moved in 30 years and now that I've seen your pictures, they will have to take me out of here feet first. I cannot imagine moving 30 years of our hording!!!!!

Nice place!!

I'm amazed that the roll was made from scratch. I make rolls, but they come from a can.

Hey Jeannie, I sure remember my days of moving and it always good to do it every once in awhile but I don't relish the idea of it at all!!

Babe you keep up the good work & don't be burning the candle at both ends to get it all unpacked.

Sorry I couldn't join on the book study with you all.....I'm still on the road driving quite a bit and gone for a few days at a time.

Oh good lord...

That moving mess hurts just to look at it -

...I think when (if) I move, I'll just throw everything out to the curb expect the most precious treasures (gifts from friends).

Unpacking is on the top of my list of things I loathe about moving

From the looks of those boxes, you have a lot of work ahead of you, but you must have been very busy in those 24 hours after you received your stuff until you took these pictures. You have a lot in place already. You'll get there in time. Soon the hard work will be done, and you'll be able to sit and relax...and stamp! :)

Thinking of you. *hugs*

When I looked at your photos, it seems you really are doing a good job of getting things organized, you're just too close to all of it to see how much progress you really are making. Don't let it worry you (yes easier said than done I know), it will all find it's place in the house at least 2 weeks before the next move (just kidding, really). I've moved more times than I want to remember, and this last was the worse - I think it took me almost a year before I was happy with my apartment (the fact that it is half the size of my former house probably had something to do with that, but what the heck). Most all my "things" have found their spots and are residing fairly happily now, so it's all good. Keeping all of you in my thoughts - thanks to your family for everything you do for our country.

Well focus on the blessings, not the unpacking!
