Oh.My.Gosh!
Even though we got rid of tons and tons of stuff before we moved....we still have tons and tons of stuff, lol! It is currently a nightmare of boxes, paper, and piles upon piles of stuff around here. The movers, who were just about as awesome as awesome can be!, left around 3:30pm yesterday. Before they left, I had already started unpacking boxes. And we went hard till about 7:30pm when it was Bella's bathtime. By then, we had made up both beds (although I still haven't found Bella's dust ruffle or canopy curtains), and hooked up the TV center. Priorities, right?!?!? We also unpacked tons of boxes and made enough room to walk around without breaking anything or killing ourselves.
The weather held out yesterday (PRAISE GOD!!!), with just a bit of sprinkling here and there. Then around dinnertime it just came pouring down and has been raining ever since. You would think that with finally have my gorgeous, comfy bed and heavy rain, I would have slept like a brick...but not so much. Have you ever had unpacking dreams??? Oh my!! I just couldn't turn off my brain and I'm not sure if I spent more time awake thinking about unpacking, or asleep. But at least I was very, very comfortable!! And watching TV on a big screen? On our pillowy-soft livingroom furniture? Bliss!!
Right now we're at that stage where you have to make a disaster out of an area before you see any progress. I unpack box, after box, after box and think....haven't I accomplished anything??? Until I see that I can actually see the floor in more and more places, lol! Every flat surface has piles of stuff. My OCD is having fits with that, but for now, it is what it is. We have very little wall space now that the furniture is here and I have soooooo many pictures, and posters, and paintings and do-dads that will most likely wind up in storage. I would take photos, except at the moment my camera isn't accessible and by the time it is, I'm afraid I'll be too exhausted, lol!
So we're here and we are making Italy home. Finally. Excedrin all around!!!

Congrats on your safe arrival! Unpacking is exciting and tiring all at the same time. Open each box is like a treasure hunt!! I will see one two Excedrin's and raise you one margarita or two!!
Can't wait to see pics!
Hugs

I know you're glad to finally have your own stuff! I can't imagine the army furniture was very comfortable or stylish!
Woohoo! Finally!! So glad to hear your "home" has arrived. Can't wait for photos of the new place, and I'm sure they will come in time. :)
Have a GREAT weekend! *hugs*
So glad you and your belongings have been reunited. Good luck getting it all put away! ;)
I'm so happy for you that your things FINALLY arrived. I can only imagine the amount of work it will take to get everything in place. You definitely have your priorities straight. Sweet dreams!
I'm so glad everything arrived safely!
Jeannie, I am so glad your things finally arrived! I actually said a prayer last week that they would get there. :-) Don't wear yourself out too much with the unpacking.
We moved from a two-story house in ID to one-story in AZ. I never knew we had so many pictures and wall decorations. Where do you store stuff there? The rain sounds delightful. It's so hot here--108 today. I'd love some rain. Relax. Order will return. We OCDs are cursed and blessed...
Yay, your stuff came in! Does that include stamping stuff!!
I hate those"you are still doing stuff" dreams. I don't feel rested.
ps. I did a button for your Royal Academy:)
Hooray for awesome moving guys!
I was up until almost 5 my time this morning & got to sleep until 9. I'm a little snappy today, lol.
xoxo
I am just so happy for you Jeannie, I know it is a chore and a half but it will be so worth it when you are done. Congrats girl, HUGS
I hate those dreams where you are just busy busy busy, LOL
Hope you have a good weekend, if I could take your rain I would :o)
So glad you've got your stuff, Jeannie. It is sort of like Christmas, unpacking each box to see what really is inside. Don't feel rushed. You've been operating pretty well without your stuff, so a few more days uncovering lost objects won't matter in the grand scheme of things..
In this instance I unpack until I collapse. Sometime till 1 or 2 am. That's just me though. I HAVE to get it done no matter the cost! But i see from todays post you have made a lot of progress.
Ciao, un magazzino di auto? :)
