Thursday's Head Start Class

Thursday's field trip was to downtown Vicenza. Tuesdays and Thursdays are market days, but Thursdays are larger. It was wall to wall stalls everywhere!!! Lots to see and the people watching was almost as much fun, lol!

Our amazing teacher, Ilaria!!!

Oldest home in Vicenza, built and owned by a famous family.
UPS guy in Italy, lol!
Pharmacy sign

These musicians were playing downtown all morning! It was so much fun to walk all around, shop, and be serenaded! You'll notice the little girl dancing - she would have done even The Bella proud, lol!!!
Make up is crazy-stupid expensive here!!
We visited the Teatre Olimpico again, and these blue lights weren't on then so I took some shots.
These mosaics were found during construction. All are from Vicenza.
Model of a Vicenza home during Rome's reign.

Vincenza's Cathedral is beautiful. I clicked on most of these pictures so I could see them up close. They were captivating. I've never been to a Cathedral, but I'd love to visit one someday.

Your picture of the confessionals caught me a little off guard, but it was a great pic. We haven't had those kinds of confessionals in our church in years. They were removed and replaced with one room a long time ago. I think I prefer the older method over the face-to-face confession we do today. *shrugs*

The pipe organ was beautiful. (did you use that word to describe the things you've seen as much as I've used it in commenting on them?)

I noticed all of the flowers hanging from the balconies in the pictures of Vincenza's oldest home. They really added a nice touch to the scenery.

The little girl who was dancing needs to be in a dance contest with Bella. LOL That sure would be fun to watch. The street musicians sounded great. Looks like fun.

Those are incredible mosaics in the Teatre Olimpico.

When you see works of art such as these, you wonder (at least I do) how they actually built these things or painted such things. Your pictures have me mesmerized. :)

Beauty abounds! I love the inside of the cathedral. I am assuming the famous family is italian so we would not know who it was..... and sephora is expensive anywhere you go!
