A Back-To-School Tag!

My longtime friend Pam, from Screaming Mimi, tagged me for this, so here we go! (The fact that she's having a giveaway that I want to win has NOTHING to do with the fact that I'm playing along. Just wanted to get that out there.)

This tag originated with Amy, from Keeping Up With The Schultz Family , who says, "I thought it would be fun to do a new tag. I wanted to do a back to school tag. I know some of us may have children who are attending school. Or remember our back to school days. I hope you enjoy this tag and join in."

Answer these 5 questions below. Then tag 5 blogging friends to play along. Be sure to let everyone know who tagged you.

Here goes!

What was your favorite back to school item to buy?
Ohmygosh - I love school/office supplies still!!!! The smell of a fresh carton of Crayola crayons?? Heaven!!! I have total OCD and the thought of freshly sharpened pencils, with color coordinating erasers, all lined up in a cute pencil box????? *happy sigh* If I had to pick one thing (impossible!!!), it would be finding super cute folders. I always had to have folders and I loved picking them out most.

What was your favorite subject in school?
I loved school period!! I was always a good student and got good grades. I think it was the special teachers I had that made any one particular class special. I especially loved music and languages (I took French, Spanish, and Latin in High School). I remember looking at all the beautiful posters in language class and wondering (HOPING!!!) if someday I'd see those beautiful cities for myself one day.....

Did you ride the bus or get a ride from Mom/Carpool?
I always rode the bus.

Do you have a sack lunch or cafeteria food?
I remember having a Snoopy lunchbox when I was really little but then had cafeteria food. It was always really bad too!!!

What is your favorite memory from your school days?
School was a respite for me from a very bad home situation, so I made the most of every second!! I was involved with just about anything I could. I competed in tons of music competitions and my senior year I was our orchestra's Concert Mistress (1st violin chair). That was a really big deal because I got to come out on stage separately, after everyone else was seated, and got to bow to the audience!!!

I know some people hate doing tags or are busy or whatever, so if you'd like to play along - please do!! Or you can leave your answers in a comment here!

I was always a good student too. A teacher's pet, in fact.

Wow you were one smart cookie girl and I imagine you still are lol When I think of school it is just nightmarish for me I was not the IN crowd and almost everyday was reminded of that so I kinda just block those memories out, but it sure sounds like you did really well and that is great!!

Favorite school item:
Pens, I am a pen fanatic and it drives hubby crazy LOL

School subject:
Biology, that was a good time for me and very interesting dissecting going on.

Always had to ride the bus.

Started out with lunch box and ended up with cafeteria food. Cant remember what kind of lunch box I had though :o(

Favorite school memory:
The very last day of having to go LOL

This was a great post Jeannie. Brrr..school brings shivers to me..it's not that I wasn't a good student..I was...it's because I was so painfully shy that well people scared me. Plus I have always been a bit odd so put that with shy and you got a quiet little artsey bookworm..LOL!!

Being the first chair...that was awesome. Do you still play? Now I know why the Bella loves music.

Hugs,
Regi

Jeannie I thought your blog was gone and I wondered about you? I'm so happy to see a comment from you today. I hope all is going well!

My father was in the AF and we always moved. It was a bummer sometimes.

Have a blessed day sweet friend.
~Melissa :)

PS No maid! I'm just a clean fanatic. Ha!

My least favorite back to school buy was having to get my haircut after the whole summer of letting it grow wild. :)

My least favorite subject was GYM. I hated each and every minute of it.

I rode the bus to school and walked home if it wasn't raining. I remember the bus driver lady was black but dyed her hair brilliant yellow - she was a wonderful person and good driver - just a bit eccentric in her appearance (she sometimes wore blue jean farmer overalls with a bib and nothing ..underneath..)

Sack lunches. Nothing like warm mayo and tuna. Sometimes I got the cardboard with ketchup and glue object they called "Pizza" at the cafe.. and that was a treat!

Hmmm.. your favorite memory is .. kind of sad. I always enjoyed the "ilicit" (I wasn't supposed to) walks home.

:) I never did follow rules very well.

The smell of new crayons. Sigh.

I LOVED school, everything about school. I was a nerd before we knew what a nerd was.
