NO!! To ObamaCare!!!

Letterman style countdown on healthcare - "Obama style".....

(10) Your annual breast exam is done at Hooters.

(9) Directions to your doctor's office include, "Take a left when you enter the trailer park."

(8) The tongue depressors taste faintly of Fudgesicles.

(7) The only proctologist in the plan is "Gus" from Roto-Rooter.

(6) The only item listed under Preventive Care Coverage is "an apple a day.."

(5) Your primary care physician is wearing the pants you gave to Goodwill last month.

(4) The line, "The patient is responsible for 200% of out-of-network charges," is not a typographical error.

(3) The only expense covered 100% is "embalming."

(2) Your Prozac comes in different colors with little M's on them.

(1) You ask for Viagra and they give you a Popsicle stick and duct tape
Huge thanks to Kathie for passing this along!

My PCP is a lovely, very slender, young woman. She could probably stand in one log of my pants and pull them all the way over her head... which makes this item all the funnier.

I avoid Letterman at all costs, so I never would have seen this if you hadn't posted it. *Laffs at Iggy*

The sad thing is, this exagerated version might not be all that far off target.

Socialized health care means DIY Medicine. Not kidding...You need radiation? Ok you can have it in...9 months!

Anyway, this is way funny. Every once in a while Letterman nails it. This was one of them.

Is this an instance of "funny but true"? Gosh I sure hope not.

Actually, there are some really bad things about the plan they'd like to pass. I'm not for it. At all.

I as a Brit agree with President Obama. At last an American president capable of making a hard decision.

How can you as Americans let people die on the streets because they don't have any medical insurance?

I see that as being selfish but then America only go to war for the money don't they?

OBAMA RULES! (and I am British and an advocate of NHS which is the best health service in the world)

To Wend's Place.

As a Brit, who are you to question our country's practices anyway? Oh, and the quip about going to war about money, I think YOUR country has done that for THOUSANDS of years. I am a loyal Soldier in the U.S. Army, and for you to say that this country goes to war for money really chaps my hide. I will tell you why we go to war. To protect the freedoms of our citizens. So that, even ignorant people such as yourself, aren't shot in the street because of their views.

Yes, God Bless America. And all the amazing people who give up so much to defend a great country. I am not American, but I have many wonderful friends who are. I don't know you Thomas, but I do know that you are a hero and your country would not be what is is without people like you. I lived in Denver for almost three years and although no country is perfect (my own included) I truley love your country. My eldest son was born there and I will always have a huge soft spot in my heart for the land of the free and the passionate. God Bless and may He keep you safe at war or at home :)

it was funny, yet slightly disgusting, when i sent this to my FIL and he returned my email asking why i thought he had stocked piled duck tape.

Well "Wend", this isn't YOUR place, it's mine!!!!

And yeah, we're such a "selfish" country that we treat ANYONE, citizen or not, medical insurance or not, in any life or death situation!

And yeah, we're such a "selfish" country that we donate supplies and aid to ANY COUNTRY when asked for it.

And yeah, we're such a "selfish" country that we bailed out YOUR country out in two world wars!!!! Otherwise you'd be speaking GERMAN by now!

Do I need to continue? No - you're too stupid to get it anyway!!!!

Seeing as I work in the healthcare field, I am completely an utterly against socialized healthcare. Also, isn't that pretty much what Tricare is...which doesn't work so well.
My solution is that they open government funded hospitals & clinics, but don't screw with private health insurance. One-quarter of my hard earned wages are taken away to pay for Social Security I'll never get a chance to see, and to pay for illegal immigrants to get free education & healthcare.
And, no hospital is allowed to turn away a patient due to the inability to pay...the same goes for the health deptartment. I think certain programs are under utilized b/c the general public has gotten lazy & expect everything to be handed to them.
