Friends
Friends are family you pick out for yourself.
To have a friend, you must be a friend.
Friends are family you pick out for yourself.
To have a friend, you must be a friend.
But what happens when you are a friend and they aren't a true friend back? Sucks, doesn't it? I'm pretty sure everyone has experienced it in their lives. Sometimes many times over. And as much as it hurts, it doesn't kill you or stop the world from spinning. It's when you are really down and out, that you discover who your REAL friends are. And I had many more than I thought, even with losing someone who never really was. So to my "in real life friends" and my "online friends", today I say a heartfelt thank you! Thank you for listening and for caring and for emailing and for calling!!! It really made a big difference in my life, and I so appreciate it!
Pistachio-Pineapple Kiwi Layer Cake!
Not to brag, but this is a scrumptious Jeannie original!!! And Rachel had some so she can vouch for that, lol! There are endless variations you can make, and because it's kept in the fridge, it's a nice cool treat for the summer. This was the last piece - I forgot to get a shot before I originally served it! So enjoy this, my friends!! Make some and share it with someone you love today!
1 box yellow cake mix
2 - 3.4 oz instant pistachio pudding mixes
2 cups of milk
1 - 8 oz can of crushed pineapple, drained well
1 - 12 oz tub of cool whip
kiwi slices, about 2 whole kiwis
Bake cake mix per instructions. I used my Pampered Chef tort pans for the first time (love them!!), and baked them 25 minutes. Completely cool cakes on wire rack. Mix pudding with milk until it's well thickened. Fold in cool whip and then pineapple. Use half the pudding mixture on top of first cake, layer second cake on top, and use remaining pudding on the second layer. Top with kiwi slices, gently cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until served. Enjoy!! If you make this, or a variation, please take a picture and let me know!!!!

Cake looks awesome!!!!
I'm SO glad to have my bloggy buddies. With Josh gone I'm kinda losing my mind and I realized how much I appreciate my virtual friends!
Isn't that the truth Jeannie!! When something happens in your life, you find out who your friends really are:) And who knew that online friends can be the best!
Hey, I see that you are a Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers! Me too, but I am #26. Actually we included some of your buds in our group!!
Have a happy Sundy:)
Ahhhh! I'm glad we are freinds too Jeannie! :)
I'm a friend of Iggy's, Styxie's, Deanna's and a few others. I thought I'd pop on over to check out your blog again. (i have a couple of times awhile back) Very nice blog. Especially love what you've written about friends. I've lost a few friends "who never really was" and it hurts. Sometimes it takes quite awhile to get past the hurt.
But anyway...one reason I stopped by today was to tell you how beautiful your handmade cards are. I was lucky enough to receive one from a very good friend on Friday, and it lifted my spirits. It was just what I needed that day. Thank you for helping out your friends. And thank you for the truly beautiful cards.
My blog is private, by invitation only, and there is a reason for that, but if you'd like an invitation to read it, just let Iggy know and he can give me your email addy so I can add you. If you don't care to, that's okay. I just wanted to extend you the invitation.
Thanks again...and have a wonderful Sunday. *hugs*
So sweet of you AliceKay!!! I have emailed Iggy already. It makes me feel so awesome to know that my cards are enjoyed and have made a difference. Making a positive difference is what my life is hopefully about!
I so know what you are talking about. I know who my true friends are, and it's been a sad lesson at times.
I would never have thought to pair pistachio and kiwi. How creative!
Well said about friends. Good friends are the true spice of life. So what are lousy non-friends? That superfluous ingredient a recipe doesn't really need? Corn syrup? :)
Very well put. :) *HUGZ*
Oh yum, that cake looks so good!
*Hugs*
That frog card was truely a masterpiece.
P.s., I wrote in it this time.
