What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #294

Good morning, Crafters! It's still fully dark over here in Germany (not that it gets much lighter during the "day", lol!), and I'm on my first cup of tea. I just got my order in from England yesterday, so I'm happier than a pig in mud!!!! Turkish Apple.....soooo yummy!! If you are confused by "WOYWW", do check out Ms. Julia's blog at Stamping Ground and get up to speed. For the rest of you, welcome and I hope you have a good look around!

My desk this morning:
I didn't "cheat" or arrange anything....this is truly the mess I left my desk in when I had to stop for the day yesterday. I was in the middle of a card that wasn't coming together easily for me, so I was still putzing around with it, trying a little of this and a little of that, and generally not liking any of it! When my husband came home with pizza for dinner, I threw my hands up and called it a day! You will notice different stamp sets and dies on my desk, and a lovely stack of Magnolia papers on the left hand corner. A mish-mash of tools and adhesives, some ink pads, and two blocks with stamps on them that I may, or may not, use. A mess, but a card-in-progress kind of mess!!!

However, it was a banner week of crafting!!! I haven't done this much in a week in a long time - thanks very much to the awful insomnia I deal with. I got all three of my winter cards you saw me working on last week finished!! If you would like to see them, I blogged about it on Sunday HERE. Then I saw THIS VIDEO on Facebook and was inspired to make these:
A garden on my desk!!!

Most are colored with Spectrum Noir pencils and Gamsol, and the ones on the right were water colored with Distress Ink and a paint brush as shown in the video above. It was SOOOO EASY to paint them! Just have a quick look at the video and know you can have great results too!

The cards I've made with my flowers so far:

I have enough flowers and butterflies left to make 2-3 more cards and then it will be on to something else. I'm not sure what, but it WILL involve more coloring because I most certainly have not had my fill yet!!!! Perhaps more pencils? Perhaps some Perfect Pearls? We shall see.......Thanks for stopping by and I hope your week is the bestest ever!!!

Very cute cards, but really, this word "mess" you use? I don't think it means what you think it means, to paraphrase The Princess Bride :) Looks pretty tidy to ME!
Have a Happy WOYWW day!

Your desk looks so beautifully tidy and organised, and the flowers are gorgeous. What beautiful cards you are making with them! I love painting with distress inks.

Thank you for such a lovely warm and encouraging comment on my blog. Your prayers are very much appreciated, and your kind words - you have my hubby in one! You are right, my feelings are pretty changeable at the moment but I am determined to remain as upbeat as possible, because a positive attitude not only makes you feel better, but has health benefits too!

Holy cow, Jeannie. Those cards are gorgeous. I like them all, especially because they are so elegant. I hope your latest one comes together, too.

Had to laugh at your comment on my blog post. That is NOT bedroom furniture, but the sideboard in my dining room. Good guess, though. Guess it DOES look a bit like a dresser.

Happy WOYWW from #1 and thanks for visiting me while I slept.

great looking cards! I watched a video about an animator/comic book illustrator that uses distress inks as his medium to color those items. I tried to find the video on Tim Holtz blog but since he has changed his format it is impossible to find anything! Essentially what he did is stamped the pad on a craft mat and sprayed water to activate it and painted it on with a brush...but his effects were so dramatic. I think it is the amount of water you use. I hope you have a great week and thanks for visiting my blog earlier. Vickie #33

Well Queenie, I love the flowers and the cards that came from them, but am really pissed for you that the price is insomnia..how dreadful. You're giving me the itches for being spring like in my card making...inspiritation! thank you!!
