What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #282

Welcome!! So glad you decided to drop in for a visit! I wasn't able to participate in last week's WOYWW, can't remember why but it probably had something to do with sleep or the lack thereof. Luckily, I had the very, very rare occurrence of a wonderful, full night's sleep last night!!!! That happens about once in three months or so, SO I'm going to make the most of the added energy today!

If you aren't acquainted with WOYWW, do be sure to check out Julia's blog, Stamping Ground and see what all the fuss is about! :D Nothing like having a peek into other crafter's rooms and getting inspiration from their crafty desks!

My desk this morning:
As you can see, the pile of stamps on the left has grown as the last of my orders has arrived. I'm in a mad dash to make my Christmas cards for the year! I refuse to "mass produce" my cards because it truly bores me to tears. If it gets down to the wire and I'm truly rushed, I'll make two of each, but I really don't like doing that. I've been making 2-3 a day most days so I think I'll just make it this year. Currently I'm set to make some gingerbread house cards, using my new-to-me set from Lawn Fawn, Sweet Christmas and their new matching dies. I've had the brilliant idea to stamp the house and gingerbread people on this SU Baked Brown Sugar card stock with white embossing powder to make it more realistic! Plus it's that much less coloring! The "candy" will be done on white card stock, and colored with Copics. (My Copics are in two trunk cases just to the left of my desk, out of view.) You will see some dies on the left in front of my most recent stamp purchases - I keep them on magnetic sheets that are backed with thin chipboard. I get so much more use out of my dies now that they are organized! Although I have all the Wink of Stella glitter pens, I use the clear one the most, so it's been staying on my desk to add bits of "glow" to my images. A really cool glitter pen!!! So that's about all that's happening so far on my desk. If you are interested, do check back later today and see my cards! I'm SO EXCITED to be making these!!!

Before you go, you have to see these stamps from Simon Says Stamp!
Two stamp sets (and matching dies!) for making "ugly" sweaters and vests!! LOVE IT!! I just couldn't resist these and these are on my list to use very, very soon!

Also, these arrived yesterday and are the last of my crafty orders for the year. We are moving next summer, so the push to save money needs to start ASAP. (I got these just before my self-imposed deadline!!!)
Critters in the Arctic and Critters in the Snow from Lawn Fawn! I have most of their "critter" collection and they are so much fun to color!!! Either with Copics or my Prismacolor pencils, they make the cutest cards. My oldest daughter just moved to Alaska, so I couldn't resist these!

Cards I made yesterday, using the Lawn Fawn set Trim The Tree.
This tree I stamped on DSP, but the other one I colored with Copics. I colored all the decorations and then used the matching dies to cut them out. I DO NOT fussy cut!!! This is an older stamp set, but they just started offering dies for some of their favorite, older sets. I used the Wink of Stella glitter pens here and there for a bit of shine, without overwhelming the image.
So there you have it - my desk for the week!! I hope you will leave a comment before moving to the next desk!! See you next week!

Funny, I had a good night's sleep the other day too! Must be the position of the moon! I think it was new moon. I can't seem to sleep when it's full moon! Fab Christmas cards and that clear glitter pen sounds awesome! I use Stickles but they're more difficult to control than a pen. You can't blame a girl for wanting a bit of glitz! Have a sparkly week! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #32

Congratulations on getting a good nights sleep. Woohoo!

You are making such cute and fun Christmas cards. Your work desk always looks so much more organized than mine. Actually mine is one hot mess right now!!!!!

All cute as can be - but I hate to alarm you by saying word verification is def. ON, at least for me. I suspect it's google trying to force people to log in to google in order to comment without needing verification. Oh well....

Happy WOYWW!

Hi Jeannie, lovely cards. Well done at getting so many Christmas cards done too. My treatment is for Rectal Cancer- tablet chemo and Radiotherapy at the moment, before surgery. I've got a separate page on my blog with all the regular updates, just so people don't have to wade through it all amongst the crafting stuff! Not being able to sleep properly is horrible, Funny thing is, that now I work permanent nights, I sleep better during the day than I ever did when I tried to sleep at night! How weird is that? Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #14 xxx

So so happy you had a good's night sleep. ^_^ I can so relate to the sleepless nights. I'm beginning to think I might be turning into a zombie myself...BAHAHA

Your cards are beautiful as always. I have my Halloween card you made a few years ago in with my decorations and I always put the one you made me for Christmas on the shelf with those decorations. Love my cards!!!

Have missed ya girl. Hugs!!!

I rarely get a full nights sleep - how I long for one - would be great tonight as I have so much to do tomorrow. I also hate making lots of same card. Great cards and lots of stamps to have fun with. Thanks for visiting. Anne x #18

I like to make original Christmas cards for immediate family, but I come up with a single design for everyone else. Therefore, I'm very impressed that you won't do more than 2 of a kind. I don't use stamps a whole lot, but I certainly love the versatility of that ugly sweater and vest set. I saw a video of Kristina Werner use it, and it looks like fun. Happy WOYWW and Blessings!

Awww thank you for your sweet and encouraging words, Jeannie! I have to disagree, though - those pieces are a disaster in my book! I suppose we're all a bit of a perfectionist at heart when it comes to our art, and I always know when something's not right and it doesn't "gel" with me.

You've done some great cards there, and what a lot of great stamps too! You certainly have been busy.

Happy WOYWW,

Your Christmas cards are very pretty But by the time I get around to doing any the only way to go will be the production line :) Having said that, I will get bored after five or six the same :)
I only bought two of those Wink of Stella pens, having heard that the clear was the most useful, and it is :)
Have a good week,

Hi. Thanks for calling by at mine yesterday. I'm catching up with my visits this morning because I had another twinnie fun day yesterday so didn't get a lot of time to call by.
Glad you slept better but really hope that happens more often for you. Love the cards you've made.

I'm useless without sleep. And tearful, so hats off to you for functioning 'normally' after short nights, am very glad to read that you have a great good night now and then, keep it up! your cards are gorgeous and I'm the same..I prefer not to make more than one of most things! I too store my dies like you and just leafing though the sheets now and then can often give me ideas.

I can't wait to see your Gingerbread cards...great idea! I'd prefer to make less duplicates, but I just don't have the time; i usually only make 8 of each design though, so it's not too bad. And thanks for visiting and the toothpick tip. It should work perfectly on those MB die cuts.

A lady after my own heart!! I can't mass produce either, I've tried and I always end up changing something. I gave up years ago on making more of one of anything!
Lovely cards!

Hi Jeannie, thanks for the visit. I've been out walking today so am now trying to catch up.
I understand how you feel about mass producing cards but what I do is make something called a Masterboard background which I then cut up and add die-cuts or stamp onto. This gives you the best of both worlds so that each card has a similarity but different at the same time and speeds up the production time.
Happy crafting, Angela x

Love the tidiness of your workspace, and the stamps. I'm really intrigued by all of the comments about sleep---or lack of it. I too slept well last night. What was it about last night? Why do so many of us have difficulty sleeping? Not craft blog issues, but curious.
Thanks for your visit today. I do enjoy visitors and visiting. :) Have a crafty week! Nann #43
