In crafting news, I finally got a start on that peacock stamp!
It took much longer to pick out the colors, than it did to color it!!!
Close-up view
(So proud of my coloring and blending!)
Trying out my new Frantage embossing powders. They are chunky embossing powders in several colors and also include a bit of glitter. It gives a really cool color and texture! I *think* I'll be using one or both on the peacock images. I NEED to get them made into cards, but I'm so afraid of messing them up after putting so much work into them already!!! Eeeks!
Bella was my Coloring Buddy!!
Here she's using her own pack of new Prismacolor pencils!
She's in love with my Magnolia stamps too!
Didn't she do a great job?? The center image was blended with Gamsol, which she still needs to do on the other images. We had a great time coloring with our new pencils!!!
I ordered two Magnolia magazines from ebay, as my regular place no longer carries them.
This "help" book was pretty much a dud for me, although the photos are nice. I also got this large die in. It's really lovely!
In Home School news...
A huge Amazon order came in, including these card games. Bella LOVES playing them and we both remembered so much from our American Revolution unit we just finished. We haven't played the other two yet, but looking forward to it! :D
Bella picked up Book 4 of this series at the PX and liked it so much, that I ordered Books 1-3 online. She reads every day, and it's no longer something I have to force. *Happy Face!*
This book got great reviews, so I picked it up to introduce her to fine art. Living in Europe we have the opportunity to see so much in person, and I want her to have an appreciation of it when we do. This is something she definitely would NOT learn in public school!!!
On the menu this week:
Tuesday Night: Tater Tot Casserole!
A delicious repeat!
Wednesday Night: Taco Ring
Pampered Chef recipe
This isn't my photo, but mine looked just as good!!!
Thursday Night: Herb & Citrus Roasted Chicken
NEW recipe found HERE!
Tonight we're having Orange-Cranberry Pork Roast! :D
Thursday I was feeling "pie-y", so I made an apple and a lemonade pie!!!
Bella LOVES my lemonade pie!!!
It was a very full, very productive week!!! We are going full steam ahead finishing up our 4th grade year. Bella has done so well and I know she's truly learning, not just going through the motions. Hopefully the weather will stay cooler like it's been the last couple of days. I don't like the rain or dark skies, but it DOES beat the hot, hot, hot weather we had before! Our third floor gets unbearable, making it hard to sleep and impossible to craft. There's so much I want to do this weekend....stay tuned!
