What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday

Something new for Wednesdays!! I found this delicious blog of Julia's thanks to Emily! So now we can look forward to seeing my desk (and whatever state it might be in!) on Wednesday mornings!

And here is the current state of my desk:
Normally, I pick up at the end of the day because I hate, hate, hate coming into a messy workspace first thing in the morning! It just kills my mojo, lol! But, I was right in the middle of making several cards, and picking up would just mean more work the next day, dragging it all out again. So I left it!

As you can see, the mess has spilled over to the table too! I was uncharacteristically making FOUR cards at once, so needed lots of card stock and designer papers out, plus I was using my Big Shot as well.

One completed card:
A flower pot, stair step card! I've made flower pot cards before (you pull up the flowers to read the message), and I've done many stair step cards of varying sorts, but this is the first time I've made one that combines both elements! HUGE THANKS to Helen for her incredible tutorial on making these cards! She's simply brilliant, and offers this for FREE!!

Side View

I've attached my flower pot, although you can add magnets to make it removable as Helen did. Here the flowers are pulled up to see the message. I've used the new DSP Comfort Cafe again, and the new Gumball Green stitched ribbon! Both are from the new catalog!!!

Want to play along?? Just click on the WOYWW badge up above and link up!

********************************

On a totally unrelated note, the finale of House aired last night for us. Not just the season finale, but the SHOW finale! No more House. *sniff* So sad!! This was a fantastic show, that never got old or boring!
I hope to see Hugh Laurie in something fabulous again, very soon!

I make a bigger mess than that when making just one simple card. Love that card. I've never made a flower pot or stair step card before. Just one more thing to add to my want to do list!!!

I love those cards! You really are an artist. I used to do stamping, but I just don't have my own work space. It became more of a hassle. I'm now in the process of trying to sell all my stamps on ebay. Wish me luck.

I can make a much bigger mess than that--LOL!! I've seen the WOYWW before but I never joined in because I can never seem to manage to blog something on a certain day. Love seeing other people work spaces, though. Nice cards!! :)

Oh I love that card, I made one nearly the same last year with the big flowers in the flower pot. LOL
Your desk is not messy to come back to either, it is rather neat and tidy considering you are in the middle of a job.

Thanks for visiting my desk - know exactly what you mean about tidying up your desk, so I have learnt to have my camera ready before I put stuff away to make mine look a bit interesting. You said, "As my bestie is English" what exactly did you mean by this?? Anyways, love how your potplant come away from the card - cool. BJ#24

My first visit to you're desk and have to say it doesn't look messy at all.
I like to be organised and mess just doesn't work for me but I've got a table full of cards in front of me as I type...running out of time so I think they'll stay here for tonight.
Your cards are stunning.
I've never actually watched House but feel I've missed out there. I may have to get the box set ;D
I'm glad you've joined the WOYWW's gang...you'll have lots of fun.
Enjoy! Neesie #11

Found you...I had to dig Deep! What a fabulous crafty space you have!! Great card too.
Love Hugh Laurie, and it surprises me when people from over the pond don't believe he's English. Been following 'House' but we haven't seen anything new for ages, we're soooo behind! Have a great crafting week!
((Lyn) think I'm #57 ? It changed!

Beautiful cards - and I just love your work space, so light and airy. I am the same - I can't face a messy workroom first thing in the morning.
Thanks for stopping by my desk and I hope you have a good week.

Love your blog!! The previous post on the quotes made me LOLOL - especiallt the iPad./Etch a sketch one. Must show that to Julia when she returns :)
I really love that flowerpot card, have never seen anything like it before but it's so pretty - I like the colours you've chosen. Was it tricky to make?? I don't do papercrafting at all, just fabric and sewing, so admire all the fab stuff that I see on WOYWW.
Btw, thanks for the lovely comment about my mum - and yes, you will be entered into the draw :)

Pleased you have joined in the massive Wednesday party and thanks for visiting me earlier. You desk and work area are mega tidy - that won't last long in WOYWW land.

You asked about the backgrounds - they are made by swiping inks on a craft mat, spritzing with water and pipping or swiping semi-gloss card stock through the droplets. If you smear the card you get solid colour, if you dip and just let it touch, you get splodges. Dry and then repeat until you get the result you want. Don't overdo it or you get brown-sludgy colours.

Welcome to woyww! I always think the joy of having a workdesk is the fact your DON'T have to clean up at the end of the day. ;-) By the way, I love your quotes post!

You have got such a lovely room to craft in! Love some of those sayings on your previous postings - soo funny.
Weren't you a lucky girl with that box of goodies.
Thanks for your visit. My desks got in a mess after about 6pm last night as my Buddy came over and we did some work on our albums. Will post when we have finished as they are sooo very different yet they started out the same! Amazing what different papers will do to a design!

Watch out...WOYWW can be addictive :) I'm the same way, love a clean desk when I go to bed, but doesn't always work out that way. Beautiful cards!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I love WOYWW for many reasons, one is how different tidy and messy are to people. You see a mess, I see incredibly tidy! If only I could have some of your discipline.

Hi Jeanie, your work desk is so NOT untidy. I make such a mess just getting things out while deciding what I will be using, then while creating I 'really' make a mess lol.
Oh dear! Any way I love your flower pot cards, they are very sweet, and I will follow your link to have a look at Helens tutorial when I leave here. Thank you for popping in to visit me and your lovely comments.

Hi Jeannie!
I'm so sorry! I swore I commented here, and came back to check because blogger is being an idiot and removing stuff and not letting me comment!
I left your comment in my in box for a reason! I remember the House part of your post and that beautiful card! So amazing!!
I didn't love the House finale. I was a bit disappointed :( Did you love it?

Oooh, I love love love your craft cabinet! Is it a dream to own, or what? I wanted one so bad, until I saw the price tag, which was just prohibitively expensive for a single mom, full-time college student, but when I win the lottery it's the first thing I'm buying! ;) Anyways, it looks very tidy and now I have to have a snoop around the rest of your blog (heart your theme!) and see what other kinds of wonderfulness I've been missing out on. And that flower pot card? Awesome! So well done. Love the color combo and technique! Now I have to try them, too...
Thanks for stopping by my blog and sympathizing with me on the series finale of House. Why do they have to end the best shows?! :(
Take care! :)
