Monday's Monet Moment & A Funny Bella Story!

Funny True-Bella Story:

With the arrival of new kittens, we've had the opportunity to share with Bella some new topics. Such as biology, and specifically reproduction. I always answer her questions truthfully, but I only answer what she asks for, as I believe there is such a thing as too much information, too soon. I want her to be curious and I want her to feel comfortable with coming to me with anything, any time!

So the other day, she asked to pet the kittens. I told her no, because they were nursing. You should have seen the look she gave me!

Bella: Nursing? What is Minnie? A Doctor? Does she have a stethoscope??

Me: *snicker* No, Bella, the kittens are nursing. They are drinking their milk.

Bella: Looks down, head tilted in concentration. How do they drink?

Me: They suck on Minnie's nipples. {{Yes, I know they are really called teats, but there ya go.}}

Bella: How do they do that?

Me: Well, you know how you suck on a bottle? It's like that.

Bella: Oh, OK.

.....thinking, thinking, thinking....

Bella: Did I do that too when I was in your belly?

Me: No, Bella. You only do that when you come out. But yes, then you did.

Bella: Thinking....Where are your nipples?

Me: They're on my boobs. {{Yes, I said boobs, not breasts. It just came out.}}

Bella: Eyes WIDE in disgust, while eyeing my boobs. I DID??? Ewww! That's so gross.

Me: No, it's not! That's what they're for! For feeding your baby!!

Bella: I don't think that's right. I think they're just supposed to look good.

Me: Tries not to bust out laughing....well, at least she thinks they look good, right???

Later that day....Thomas comes out of the bathroom after his shower without his shirt on. He hasn't been privy to the above conversation yet....

Bella: Daddy! You have nipples!!!!

Thomas: Confused where this outburst came from, but says, "Yes, I do. Everyone has them."

Bella: Oh yuck!! Did you feed me milk when I was a baby too????

I nearly die laughing and it's quite a while before I can respond to Thomas' confusion. And I had to change my panties too, lol!!!
