May Pen Pal Swap

This month, we were instructed to make a Mother's Day card, using current or retired products. I've been wanting to use one of my new(er) stamp sets Mixed Bunch for a while now, so that's where I started.

My card for this swap:
Recipe:
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Messages For Mom (inside)
Paper: Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Attic Boutique DSP
Ink: Soft Suede, Versa Mark
Accessories: clear embossing powder, pleated satin ribbon, Blossom Punch, 3/4" circle punch, word window punch, modern label punch, scalloped edgelits, top not die cut (inside), dimensionals

I've found that my swap cards are much more on the "Clean & Simple" (CAS) side than what I normally make. That's because I'm not a huge fan of mass producing anything, lol!, and when you have 11 to make, you want to make it a bit easier on yourself!!! Still, I enjoyed making these up and I hope the girls like them!
I found this on Katie's blog:
The Stamping Wife
Author Unknown

She learned to stamp on Monday
Her embossing was quite fine.
She forgot to make us dinner,
So we went out to dine.

She brayered backgrounds Tuesday
She says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely
But she forgot to dust.

On Wednesday it was birthday cards
She says that chalking's fun.
Shading, blending and water coloring
But the laundry wasn't done.

Her card swap was on Thursday
Using green and blue and red;
I guess she really was engrossed,
She never made the bed!

It was shaker cards on Friday
Using techniques she just adores,
But she never seemed to notice
The crumbs on all the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday!
My week is now complete.
My wife can stamp the hours away,
And the house will still be neat.

Well, it's already Sunday,
And my forehead's feeling damp.
I cursed, and I raved, and I ranted...
The MAID has learned to stamp!!!

Dedicated to all the husbands of stampers out there!

I've found I like CAS. And I really like that card. Will keep it in mind next time I'm making a card.

LOL! Probably why I have a strong tendency to keep all mine CAS--because I am usually mass producing cards! So true!!

Cute card and poem, too. :)
