This 'n That

I saw a really cool video at SplitCoast Stampers HERE, and was dying to try it out! Only I didn't have any pastel pencils!!! Ugh! These are basically chalk pencils, and the technique won't work with regular or watercolor pencils. (Just ask me how I know, lol!!!) My first thought was to just purchase them from Amazon. I should have listened to my first instinct!!! But no, I went on eBay instead. I purchased them from a seller with 100% feedback, but still didn't have very good luck. It took over a week to even ship them out, and then over a month to receive. I paid enough for it to be sent Priority Mail, but it was sent Parcel Post. Which over here means sloooowwww!!! And then it was completely smashed in when it arrived! This is a heavy duty metal tin, and it's just smooshed like a piece of tinfoil!
Luckily the pencils were OK, and I took them out of the now useless tin and put them in a crackle glass, hand painted vase. They look so pretty in there too! But still, a tin would have been nice for when we move - you know?
And the seller? Yeah, rude and obnoxious as he turned out to be, he totally got a negative feedback score from me!! Jerk! And no, I haven't used them yet...but it's coming up very, very soon!!! Stay tuned!

For the longest time, I've been struggling with my Copic Ciao markers, because the ink color isn't printed on top like it is for my Sketch markers. There was a teeny, tiny index on the side of the box, but it wasn't in any kind of order, so you had to search for a color and then search again to put it back! That just didn't work for me! So....I thought of a brilliant idea of labeling the caps!! It took me a long while, but I have them all labeled now and in alpha-numeric order!! LOVE IT!

Here is my entire Copic collection!:
I have all the colors, except for the Toner & Neutral Grays (I have the Warm & Cool sets and that's enough for me!), and the flourescents (which I'd never use!). The case in the back has some empty spots, but that's OK as they come out with 12 new colors every year! For now I'll have to "make do" with my 326 colors, lol!

The Walking Dead

I freaking LOVE this show!! I think the second season finale was a bit of a disappointment after all the build-up it had, but it was still good. Lori was still a crappy mother and Carl was still wandering outside alone! Of course they both survived the zombie attack at the farm - dammit! And the infamous Michonne made her appearance at the very end. I think I'm going to have to break down and read the comics (gawd! comics - blech!!!), because seven months is a long, long time to go without any zombie fix!!! Luckily the second season will be available on DVD on August 28th to keep use zombie lovers sated, lol!
From Cat - who understands, lol!

See these Fisher Price toys?
Yeah, Bella has had them for years! But she still loves 'em!!! She had to lose her privileges on Monday evening (bad report from school), so she couldn't watch TV or use any electronic toys. So this is what Bella does when she's.....unplugged.

So freaking adorable!!
She'd been playing for a long time before I got out my camera. She had been singing, and using different voices, etc. I love that kid!!! Now, if she could just focus that energy at school...

Love your Copic collection!! Wow!!
Those pastels you purchased...if they were dropped or smashed...it is a good chance that they are broken or cracked inside. So every time you go to sharpen them the lead will just fall out. So bummer!!!!
Sorry you got an Ebay jerk too....sucks!!!
Bella is adorable!!!

I love it when children find their own fun!

Sorry your pastel pencil's box was smashed, but I'm glad they were okay. Geez! Makes you wonder how he had such a good rating?

Look at all those copics!!! Drool! Drool! Wow! Keeps you out of trouble. Now if we can just keep Bella out of trouble--LOL! ;)

When my grands come visit, I keep them unplugged as much as possible. I love seeing them use their imagination like Bella is. So cool.

I can't wait to see what you do with those pencils. The seller should be ashamed of himself and have made good on a new set of pencils.

I so love your Copic marker collection. I'm still making do with my water color pencils and blender pen. Maybe one of these days I'll break down and splurge!

Wow. What a rotten seller!

I've done basically the same labeling on my paint containers because I keep them in a basket and can't see the side of the bottle easily.

Hm. Unplugging is sounding like a really good idea. I do have a project to finish downstairs so I can start the next one. I'm at the small items stage where I can't do too much at once because the areas are so close together and the paint must be good and dry before I go to the next step.

I really hate it when an Ebay (or Etsy seller, for that matter) turns out to be a bad egg, regardless of all the good reviews. I had a similar problem with a vendor out of Hong Kong. It sort of burned me on other Asian sellers for awhile, until I found someone I trusted. But a bad experience is a bad experience. ;(

Also, I realize I should get into this Walking Dead show because everyone else is...but I'm having such a hard time..

I've noticed that going with your first instinct is most often the best option.

It's great that Bella will play so happily and use her imagination like that; so many kids don't get encourraged to do so these days. It says a lot about what a great Mother you are, I think! :)

It's good for kids to be "unplugged" every now and then...helps to get their imagination/creativity going!
CH LOVES Walking Dead. I just don't understand it.

I freaking love The Walking Dead! And yeah, Lori is a bit of a dipshit mother.

What cracks me up is that the actor who plays Rick is Australian and to here him speak kind of takes you back a bit. Plus, I just realized he was in one of my all time fave movies -- Love, Actually. He played they guy in love with his best friend's new wife. He had a British accent in that film.

This is a page I found that tells all about Micchonne: http://walkingdead.wikia.com/wiki/Michonne_%28Comic_Series%29

Love The Walking Dead!! I gotta find the comics too. I couldn't find them at the library.

Also, why did she get mad at Rick for killing Shane. A few episodes ago she was trying to manipulate Rick into doing so. She irritates me!!!!!

Also, I am snaggin' the pic!

Love your marker collection!! I wish I was as imaginative as you!

I stumbled onto the First Season in my DVD collection (didn't know the hubby bought it), and stopped watching it about 15 minutes in. The hubby was still gone, and I get freaked out REALLY easily. Not a zombie fan!
