Art Every Day - Day 1

Leah from Creative Every Day is hosting her annual "Art Every Day Month" this month! I heard about it on Rita's blog, (thanks Rita!!) and was intrigued!!! I have so many things I want and need to do, and my mojo has been seriously lacking of late. So...what better than a little nudge and accountability to get ya going again??? Perfecto!!

I signed up for a Card Candy Swap to be held at the upcoming Stampin Up Convention. And then immediately regretted it!!!! Not because I didn't want to do it, but because I was terrified that whatever I came up with (and it was realllly hard deciding on what to do to begin with!), wasn't going to be *good enough*. Now I'm hardly a stamping novice.....but.....this is like....HARD CORE, lol!! Does that make any sense at all?? Well, I was intimidated. And that doesn't happen very often! (thank God!)

I also don't like repetitive stamping. I like to make ONE of something, and that's it. Assembly line creating isn't my thing. At all. Except they all had to be the same. (I hadn't thought of that either when I decided to do this, lol!!!) *grumble, grumble*

My desk during the "creating process":

I did a mock up of the first set, and then went about duplication.

I think I used just about every punch I own, lol!
(Not really, but it seemed like it!)

I also used A LOT of pop-dots, sticky tape and dimensionals!!
A LOT, A LOT, ALOT!!!!

Tomorrow I will have them all finished, bagged and tagged for Convention! AND I will have detailed instructions in case anyone would like to make up their own sets!!!! I think they turned out pretty cute and will make fun "toppers" on Christmas cards!

I'm glad you hooked up with Rita and Deanna! They are favorite peoples! And psssst! You're rubbing off on Punkn, her cards look like the masters (yours!)

Oh, I have felt that same way about swaps - very recently! I think yours are adorable - especially the Santa one! Have a wonderful time at the convention.

Whoohoo! You're the fifth person I know who has signed up for the AEDM for November! I felt like I needed a push, a motivator, too!

I had to chuckle! You know how I assembly line birthday cards and Christmas cards...well, yes! You do use up alot, alot, alot of whatever...glue, tape, dimensionals, etc. And your arms can about fall off from cutting dies--LOL! I make about 50-60 birthday cards and around 100+ Christmas cards, so your assembly line cardmaking looked all too familiar to me. And what seems simple as one card can become quite a project in assembly line mode. ;)

Have fun making stuff, lady! Take lots of pics!! :):)
