Pain, pain, go away!

Hey. I'm still alive.

Mostly.

I went to my last dental appointment on the 12th, thinking that I was close to The End of my dental agony. Getting my last wisdom tooth pulled and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. No such luck.

The actual extraction went very well and was a very fast procedure. Novacaine still didn't work that well, but at least it was quick. However, after the novacaine wore off (it kicks in about an hour after I leave the office!), I was really hurting. I fully expected the pain, but I also expected the next day to be better, and the day after that to be better still. It's what you hold on to when it's really bad and there's nothing you can do about it. "It's going to get better". My own, personal mantra.

Except Tuesday wasn't better. It was significantly worse. And then Wednesday was worse still. If I had been smart, I would have gone into the post dental clinic at least by Friday morning, but I wasn't that smart. So I suffered, and I mean I SUFFERED!!, all weekend instead. So, I did make sure to get in first thing on Monday after dropping Bella off at school. I was seen right away, and given antibiotics and a full prescription of percocet.

I think when the last tooth was pulled that bacteria was released and I wound up with a sinus and/or ear infection. Basically I have one of my killer, can't-see-straight-from-the-pain headaches, my right ear still feels like there's still an icepick sticking out of it and into my brain, my sinus cavity along my upper, right jaw aches, and every tooth on the right side of my mouth aches & throbs. At best the percocet takes the edge off, but doesn't keep me from feeling the pain. It also makes me so dizzy, disoriented and "stoned". So I've been doing nothing but zoning out and watching tv for the past week and a half. Not fun.

Again my mantra: "It's going to get better."

Well, it's Thursday, three full days on antibiotics and while there is some improvement, I'm still in pain. A lot of pain. I keep thinking if I can just hold on, that soon it will be better. I was so sure that after I got a hold of the new antibiotics, that the infection would be stopped and that I'd feel like a new woman! But I'm still the poor hag, moaning in agony. I really just want to chop off my head. Seriously.

Not much else I can do, but keep on, keepin' on. We're all going on a trip to Milan this Saturday, so I've got two more days to get it together. Either way I'm going, because it hurts no matter what I do, so I might as well have a change of scenery. I've done nothing for nearly 2 weeks, and that's no way to live.

And that's what's been goin' on over here...

Awwwwww.... I am so sorry to hear that you've been feeling AWFUL!!! It just doesn't seem right that it should be so painful - a living nightmare! Poop on that!!! I'm praying for ya right now that Jesus heals you and sends you relief! He has shown Himself to be very faithful (healed me twice of cancer!). All things are possible for those who believe :) And you ARE right: 'It will get better!'

On another note... Kauai was AMAZING!!! It is so beautiful! The weather was very warm and humid (don't care much for humidity). When are you moving? Is it to Kauai or another island?

I do pray that you are feeling better pronto!!!

Lots of love and healing hugs,
Lori

Oh sweetie, I feel for ya. I'd rather have a baby than go to the dentist and I'm 59!!! Heeehehehe!

You might want to call your dentist and tell him how much pain your still in before you head of on a trip. You really should be improving.

Know you are in my prayers.

God bless and please feel better!!!
