Bella's First Day of School!

Well today was the Big Day for my big second grader!!! Although she's been getting up at 7am (or earlier!) all summer long, naturally she was resistant about getting up "early" for school, lol! But when I reminded her of her new dress and seeing old friends, she quickly decided she wasn't too tired after all.
After finally, finally finishing her breakfast....it was time for pictures!

Snuggle time with Daddy

She is oh-so-proud of her new backpack!

I mean reallllly proud of it!

Seeing Melodi before school! Same age but different classes.

Meeting a new friend, Penny, who is in her class!
(Bella could NOT stay focused long enough for a pic!!!)

Leaving the gym with her new teacher Ms. Downey.
She seems very, very nice and I've got my *fingers crossed* that we won't have ANY of the issues we had to go through from last year!!! I already warned her that Bella was a talker, lol!

Bella was waving to everyone!
This isn't a parade, Bella!!!

And she's off!

Kinda sad - not even gonna lie! At the beginning of summer vacation I was really dreading having her home all day, every day because it was "I'm bored", "What can I do?", "I don't want to be home all day" from her. But we quickly got into our own routine together and it was nice having her help and company and it was wonderful not having to get up early to get her to school. I almost forgot to set my alarm because I was out of practice!!! So unlike many parents, I'm not jumping for joy to have the house to myself. It's altogether too quiet and I miss hearing Bella's singing!!!! At least all the bratty neighborhood kids are gone too. I don't miss them at all!

Plus...Thomas will be home in about two hours to bring me to the dentist again. I'm having my last wisdom tooth pulled and I'm absolutely petrified!!!! We all know how terrible the last trip was and I'm scared to death to go back. Hopefully the antibiotics I've been on since last week will help, and the novacaine will actually work this time. I just want all this dentist stuff behind me and to be PAIN FREE from here on out!!! It ought to be interesting picking Bella up from school if I have to take a percocet for the pain.....Prayers, please!!!!!

Bella looks happy and excited to be back to school. Pretty dress and cool backpack. I hope all goes well this year.

Good luck with the wisdom tooth extraction. Hoping all went well there, too. *hugs*

Hope the dentist appointment went well! *Hugs*

I also hope that Bella enjoyed her first day back at school.

Funny how it's always so much more difficult to get them up on a school day (despite it being the same time they'd normally get up). I remember that from when my Mam's Goddaughter (now almost 13) was Bella's age... I think it's a kid thing! ;)

Aww..look at your big girl! She's beautiful & that dress is too cute. I so hear you on missing her though. I miss my daughter like crazy now that school is back in session. I'd much rather have her home!

I do believe your baby is definitely a big girl now. Precious! I hope she has a wonderful school year. It looks like she is off to a good start.

Tooth problems. Ugh. I know all about them and feel for you. Hopefully all will go well!

That's a very pretty dress :)

I remember when I had to have mine extracted. *UGH* One went bad on me and when they took an x-ray of my mouth, they noticed all the crowding. It was decided that since it was more than likely that it would happen again, that all 4 would be removed at the same time. I'm one of those nervous nellies that panics easily so I was put under with sodium pentathol.*shakes head* Never ever want that stuff again. Pain killers and antibiotics for 2 weeks before extraction and 2 weeks after. Really annoyed the co-workers because I needed a break every couple hours to take my meds, but it was better than being in pain and sick all the time.
