We're going to be doing things a bit differently this week. Instead of quotes, I hope to inspire you with pictures and videos. I hope it will inspire you.......to be grateful for our troops, and the sacrifices that they make for you, your families and your freedoms every day. Our country has been at war since September 11, 2001, and yet surveys have shown that some Americans aren't even aware that we still have troops in Iraq AND Afghanistan still!! That is just beyond shameful to me! Our deployed troops are walking away from everyone and everything they hold dear, and put their lives on the line..........for you! Please take a moment to acknowledge their sacrifices and efforts!
It isn't a matter of politics, it's a matter of appreciating those who are willing to give anything, to keep our country safe!
What can you do? You can start by thanking one Marine family who is now bravely living without their Marine. Katie Wade of Wade's World, lost her husband Chad in Afghanistan four months ago. Chad's mother Tami Boyett of Boyett Babble Time has also decided to blog about her life now as a Gold Star Mom. These are two women who are so deserving of every ounce of support you can give them and every moment of prayer as well! Please, please take a moment to visit their blogs and leave an encouraging comment. Please serve those who have served you!
Fabulous tribute!! And you are so right...we mustn't forget...ever...those who are serving and all those who are making huge sacrifices on our behalf. Thanks Hun, Hugs And thanks to all who serve!! SueAnn
I know it's crazy how the world is. We are so fortunate that war has not come on our homeland here in the USA. I can't imagine the pain of having a loved away so long putting themselves in danger every day. I'm off to visit their blogs now.
We may strongly disagree about their being in the places where they are - but we can never disagree to support the man and women who are in our country's uniform.
Jeannie, I come from a family of servicemen and I was taught at a very early age to have love for my country and for those who sacrifice so much to ensure my freedom. I am beyond grateful for what every serviceman and woman has done for me. Thank you for this poignant reminder! I will gladly visit the blogs you mentioned...it's the least I can do.
No matter what people's political views are I cannot understand anyone not having compassion for the men and women who are fighting for our country. They are doing what the country has asked them to do. Even if we might not agree with the whys or the wars, we should always support our soldiers. That was a beautiful video. :)
I've seen this video before. It's a beautiful tribute.
I think about our servicemen and women every day. Whenever I see it on the news or in the paper or on the internet, my thoughts go out to them. I have friends whose children and husbands have been in Iraq and are now in Afghanistan. I see their posts on my Facebook and say a little prayer for their safety. Our soldiers need our support and our prayers to bring them safely back home.
I loved this post. I always remember our troops and my heart does just break over the losses of lives that are out there fighting for us. I will visit the blogs you mentioned I think they are strong and brave to do the blogs in the first place. I hope you are doing well HUGS
Beautiful Post Jeannie! Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful photo's! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Hugs to YOU and your family! Happy Creating! Sara
Great post! That video always makes me cry, but I love it. I went to the 2 blogs of the Mom and Wife of the soldier. I read a little and coudn't continue right now. Maybe when Matthew gets home from Iraq I will be ready : * ) I hope you are smiling every day. Hugs, Kathy
Who am I??? Well, a lot more than will fit into a little box! I am many things, to many people, but I am and always will be...the Queen! I'm an Air Force veteran, a retired Army Wife, an Army Mom, and an Air Force Mom! I have a passion for paper crafting, especially stamping. It's a terrific way to be creative, even if you have little "artistic" talent like me, lol! My family is everything to me, and I think it shows in everything I do. Happiness is my realm, and I personally welcome you!
