Good-bye Elizabeth

"I don't entirely approve of some of the things I have done, or am, or have been," she said. "But I'm me. God knows, I'm me."

WTG Elizabeth!!! Now starts a new journey for you! An entirely different setting! I know you will be loved and cared for as you never were in life here.
Farewell dear lady!
Hugs

I have always been fascinated by Elizabeth. One of the last of the old movie stars...of that past era of movie stars. She has had such a painful body for so many years, at least she won't be in physical pain anymore. That's a blessing. It really does feel like the passing of an era.

She is almost as pretty as you.

When I read she had said, "I call upon you to draw from the depths of your being — to prove that we are a human race, to prove that our love outweighs our need to hate, that our compassion is more compelling than our need to blame," my opinion of her shot way up.

And then I saw Carol Burnett (whom I think most highly) saying how Elizabeth Taylor had been her friend and the great lenghts she would go to for them...

The end of an era of truly fantastic actresses. How sad. If only the young ones would have learned from her.

She was really the picture of constant class, wasn't she? She had style. She was a lady. Now the girls have..um...interesting role models...Lady Gaga and Brittney and Miley. Even Angelina Jolie gets a stink-eye from me every now and then. Hard to think of a truly beautiful actress who exemplifies how to be a lady like Ms. Elizabeth Taylor. She will be missed.

She was a true icon. She lived her life to the fullest and became an activist for what she believed in - the fight against AIDS and the stigma.

She graduated in the same high school class as my grandmother. She didn't attend the school but wanted a normal high school graduation. She sat right behind my grandmother. My grandma said that no one spoke to her at all! Being famouse probably isn't all it is cracked up to be. What a beautiful woman she was though.
