Cool Stuff, Updates, etc...

I got this super cool bloggy award from Christina! I do so lurve me some awards, and this one is brand new to me - cool beans!! Thank you Christina!! I love Christina so much - she's fun, she's quirky, she's the reason I started stamping (and she's wayyyyyyyyy better than I'll ever be!), she's loyal and she's a kick-a$$ Army wife! And she loves me back, so you know, that's always nice.

When accepting the award, you are supposed to say why you started blogging.

Well...for me...why I started blogging isn't as important as why I continue blogging. I blog because it's fun. I blog because I love having a place to share, vent, learn, grow! Feedback is awesome and it's so nice to have someone out there on the internet say, Hey! You're not alone!!! I feel the same way! Or brag about my kiddos. Or share my latest papercrafting goodie. Or recipe! And my bloggy friends? Well, you guys are just the bestest best!!! Some would say online friends aren't "real". But we know that's not true, don't we??? I think about you "regulars" here and know that if it weren't for blogging.....I would never have met you or had you be a part of my life. Yikes!!! UNTHINKABLE!!! Frankly, I don't even remember what it's like NOT to blog and I don't intend to stop - ever! So there!!! No matter how many nutzos, stalkers or trolls come lookin' for a fight, lol!

You know I hate picking favorites to pass these awards on to, so here's the dealio....the next FIVE READERS who read this, get it! Just tell me that you were here (yeah you lurkers!!), and that you're taking it, okie dokie??

Well, my Emerald is HERE!!!!
This little beauty from the ocean depths has found her new home, with me in Italy!!! She's currently sitting on my kitchen windowsill, awaiting a special spot on my as yet undelivered new desk. I have been a longtime fan of Regina's work but when I saw this lil number being created, I just knew she was going to be mine!!!!! She's sublime and uber cool!! The imagination and craftsmanship on this sculpture is totally amazing and my lil picture doesn't do it justice, trust me. Go on over to visit Regina's blog (she's one of the sweetest and funniest women ever!!!) and do be sure to check out her Etsy store too. You won't be sorry! Thank you so much Regina!!!!

Random Updates:

** The "truck guy" is on his way to Vicenza, and is supposed to be here today. He was also supposedly on his way last weekend so we could pick it up yesterday. We've heard this for two weeks plus now. I think he needs to invest in a GPS. Just sayin. If God is trying to teach me patience, well...all I can say is EPIC FAIL!!!!

** The lemon honey bread is doin' it's thing in the magic machine, aka my bread maker. It only smells kinda yeasty at the moment, but when I was getting the lemon peel all diced up my whole kitchen smelled of delicous lemons!!!! I'm sure it's going to smell incredible once it starts baking! I wonder if there will be anything left by the time Thomas gets home tonight...??? Anyone wanna take some bets???

** I have all the ingredients to try my hand at French baguettes tomorrow. I just need to find a rolling pin. You use the machine's dough cycle, and then shape the dough and bake it in the oven. If this works out well I'm going to be fat (and happy!) for the rest of my life, lol!! Serious, I'm a carb freak and this is probably not a good idea. Oh. Well.

** I have a really nasty sinus headache right now. Nothing is making it go away either. Don't you hate that????

** Did you know that tomorrow is September 1st? Wow. I just hope it's a MUCH better month than August was. Or July for that matter. (please????)

** I'm going to try my hand at the ColourQ challenge again this week. No clue what I'm going to do yet...but it will give me something to do, right?

Congrats on the award Jeannie!!!

You are so sweet..mentioning me in your awesome blog...thank you thank you!! I'm so happy that you (and the Bella)love Emerald and that she made her overseas journey safe and sound.
Now as far as Mr. Thomas goes...thank goodness he isn't a sailor or she would be calling his name...LOL!!! She has found a loving home there with you...thank you for adopting her!!

Hugs,
Regi

Hope that sinus headaches goes away soon...try a warm rag on your forehead and a cool one on the back of your neck.

I like saying I have a friend in Italy. (No one needs to know we've never really "met.") Sorry about your headache. Yes, let's hope Sept. is better. I am supposed to have a new grandson in Sept. some time. Good luck with the truck finding its destination.

Congratulations on the award Jeannie. You so deserve it. I'm not going to grab it, though, cuz I quit dong awards... So those counting need to not include me in the count if I'm one of the number five.

I love my bread maching dough setting. I make all of my breads using it, rather than letting the machine finish it up. I think they just taste a little better and I don't like the little hole the paddles leaves in the bread. (I know.... silly....)

I hope your stuff gets to you by the end of the year!

That bread just sounds so yummy, I used to have a bread machine and I tried sourdough bread one time and that came out so nasty tasting LOL not sure what went wrong but needless to say I don't do the bread machine anymore. I cant wait to see the card for the colourq challenge because you always think of something amazing to do :o) I hope your sinus headache starts to feel better soon and I absolutely love your little mermaid she is beautiful, HUGS

All this talk of baking has got me wanting to get my apron on and get in the kitchen!

What I wouldn't give to be hanging out at your house, smelling fresh baked bread (eating it too) and having a glass of wine...or coffee, depending on the time of day! I know we would be buds...you're my kind of girl! xoxo

Oh my! I think I found a new blog to visit daily (like The Pioneer Woman's blog). You, my dear, are hilarious! I found you on SC and am now a follower. I hope you will follow me, too! http://www.heartsdelightcards.blogspot.com/

Congrats on your award.

I liked your answer to why you started blogging and continue to blog. Blogging is fun, and it's nice to be able to share ideas, stories, and photographs with our online friends, as well as real life friends as the case may be.

I've met a few people thru blogs (such as yourself) but the majority of my online friends were met thru Yahoo pool leagues and chat rooms...two chat rooms in particular. They seem to be a thing of the past these days, but the blogs are still here so keep on blogging and I'll keep on reading.

I hope your sinus headache went away and I hope you opened up your door and found your stuff waiting on the curb for you...along with your truck.

That lemon honey bread sounds good. I'm a lover of lemony things. :)

Good luck with the ColourQ challenge this week.

The lemon breads sounds decadent, divine, yummy...have you posted the recipe? If not, can you?
And I feel the exact same way as you do about blogging. It's such a terrific outlet and a great way to connect!...now give me your damn recipe! :)

1. Congratulations on your award. I, too, cannot imagine a time when I will not be blogging. It seems like a such a lonely world without my bliends (you know, my blog friends. ha.)
2. I seriously hope there is furniture on its way to your house. You SO deserve furniture like the pope deserves to not be shot upon.
3. I am sort of patiently awaiting what you do for the ColorQ Challenge.
Although, really not that patiently.
4. I LOVE Emerald!! She is incredibly precious and I could easily see her as being my alter ego. I am actually a mermaid. Don't tell anyone. It's our little secret.
5. And I'm off to check out Christine because you know how I heart my Army wives!!
6. I'm kind of sad that I wasn't the first of 5 to hit this. I blame that nasty pesky thing called life.

Jeannie, I LOVE why you continue to blog -- and I have to say it mirrors my own.

Just this morning I deleted a comment someone wrote that I had originally approved. Then, I had seocnd thoughts as it started with; "Wow, your blog is so personal I don't think I should comment so I will just pray for you" kind of thing.

I'm sure it wasn't intended to be as negative as it came across, if at all. However, the inflection left me reeling a bit as I thought; "Well, a blog, if anything, SHOULD be personal above all else."

Rock on, sister, and congratulations on your award -- well deserved.

Peace and serenity,
~Jo
