Can you just say....WASTE OF TIME???? Apparently the Doctor's Assistant (I don't rate a real doctor, being the mere "dependent" that I am), says I have a viral infection....but I don't get ANY antibiotics!!! NONE! Yeah I get that doctors have been over-prescribing them for years and now people have built up an immunity to them, but I never get sick and haven't had one since........gosh.......over ten years at least!! So now I get Mucinex (Mucinex in, Mucus out!), and some gargling thingy to numb my throat. It tastes like ass in case you were wondering.
How am I supposed to get better??? Nothing to relieve the PAIN AND PRESSURE in my sinuses. Nothing for my SWOLLEN throat. Nothing for my THROBBING ear drum. Seriously, what's the point?? I guess if I feel like crap another week, then I can get some anitibiotics. Yippee.
Anyone still confused on why I don't bother going to the doctor???
Now Bella on the other hand, who barely has any symptoms, has all kinds of meds!!! What the heck???
AND my blood pressure is off the charts high. Not sure if they are really high, or just because I haven't slept well in two weeks and am in intense pain. I HATE ARMY MEDICAL SERVICES!!!!!

Oh poor you, hope you feel better soon. After discussion with the pharmacist in Italy you can buy antibiotics in the pharmacy no need to see the doctor.
Damn medical people. I'm convinced they don't know buttkus (however you spell that??). I wish I had some extra antibiotics and I'd mail the contraband to you. Argh!! So sorry. Hope you can get healed some how. Try witch doctors next.
Army doctors are prescribing Musinex for a virus? I wonder what they would give you for a gunshot wound? A couple Advil?

My daughter had a viral infection before, could barely swallow her own saliva and they would not give her ANYthing for it...so sad.
Antibiotics will not work on a viral infection. If it was a bacterical infection, then they would work. It sucks, but thats how it goes. Try some Aleve cold and sinus. This crap went through my whole family and the aleve was the ONLY thing that touched it during the day and then Nyquil at night. Good luck!!
If it really is viral, then Jenny is spot-on. Which I'm sure you knew. Aleve is good. Nyquil/Dayquil is good. Mucinex is really good but you have to drink water like a camel to make it work. And I think I had some Robitussin for the cough. Medicated Bella hardly seems fair, though.
I'm not a doctor, but I've heard that if you have a viral infection for longer than a week that you also have bacteria in there too!

well, truthfully, antibiotics don't work for viral infections, just bacterial infections. However, if your sinuses are that blocked up and crap, then i hope you get some relief soon - sinus anythings suck!

I have to say Im not surprised but that does suck that they didnt offer any help at all, I have been living with right side pain for over 2 years now and no one seems to care to help much at all :o(
