Parting is such sweet sorrow...

I can't believe it, but it's really over. The bestest, best tv show EVER.....is now gone for good. Anyone who knows me at all, knows that I cry easily. And wow, the tears they were a-flowin' last night during the finale. I was so afraid they were going to mess this up, and ruin it for me. But they didn't. It ended well, which I guess is the best way to go out. It's like reading an incredible book. You have to know how it ends, and yet you don't ever want it to end. I hardly watch any tv as a general rule and when I do it's usually the History channel or Discovery - something educational and worthwhile. Because let's face it - tv is mostly crap!

I discovered LOST during Thomas' second deployment. I was hooked from the pilot!!! Bella had decided to stop sleeping when the first season was on, so I didn't really watch it until it came out on DVD. That was great because each episode left you BANANAS for the next one and I'm sort of an "instant gratification" kinda girl! I was all caught up by the time the second season was on. Only I had to wait and watch it week by week - pure, blissful torture!!!!

Week after week, season after season.....some answers, more questions and finally television that make you think, made you wonder, made you want to do research and read more! Television that was more than "just a tv show". No one who watched it thought that.

If you haven't seen it, you don't know what you're missing....but you can find out!! I am going to be sad to not have these characters to think about, and I still get a bit misty when I hear the theme music....but it was wonderful and to the cast and crew of LOST......thank you. Thank you so much!!! It was such a fun ride - every crazy second of it!!!!!

I liked the ending. I'm not an uber fan, but I've watched since the beginning. I'm more concerned about 24's series finale!!

I am not a fan...but have friend who are...I do though hate when the show I like most comes to an end....it is traumatic to me. E.R was my downfall. I watched My Sister's Keeper yesterday...and cried like a baby....I had read the book and cried...and then the movie tore me off the frame. Frank laughed at me as I sat there and sobbed. Men...

I don't really watch lost only because i saw only part of the first season and never watched more. I like it but hubbys crabby when he misses a show and can't follow. That means waiting to get it on dvd and that leads to its not high on our to get list yet. However I feel your sorrow over losing a show My thursdays haven't been the same since the loss of ER.

I know how you feel... about you want to know how it ends but you never want it to actually end.

Hope there is a new show on the horizon for you - of course it will be in Italian. :)

Having watched from the very first episode, I wanted answers, answers and answers. I'm okay with how it ended though, in the end the answers I was looking for didn't really matter. Like where the statue came from, why Kate was seeing horses, etc.

I agree. Best television series of all time.

I believe in duct tape.

I was glued to my seat last night and so happy how it ended. I must say it was a roller coaster ride that had this beautiful ending leaving us to read into it what we want. I am so going to miss this show because like you said, most TV that is on is crap. Lost however was one of those shows that I could not miss and got more and more excited. Can't wait until August when it is out on DVD. I will own it and will probably watch it more than one time in this life. I am a Lostie after all....

You know, I started watching Lost at the beginning but then had to pare down my TV show list, so it got shelved. But I do know the feeling of having to see a series end. I was the BIGGEST fan of Alias, and I just kept praying and praying that they would be able to end the series (as opposed to being cancelled mid-season or something). And they did have a series finale, and even if it was predictable, it was closure and I was happy. :)

Have an Extraordinary Day!

Oh man, I LOVED the ending. I thought they did a great job with it. And, yes, I boohoo-ed my way through it as well. I think that's how you know it's a really good show... it's audience was emotionally invested in the characters. It was all about them, after all.

I'll miss it!

I liked the finale as well, and think they did a great job. I have love LOST since the first season and will really miss it, too.

I have an award for you at my blog!

Yours is the first post I read on this where I actually feel bad that I missed it!

I watched a lot of the pre-finale show last night and what I saw looked really good. It's sad to see a good show leave the airwaves. I felt that way when they cancelled my favorite soap, Guiding Light, last year. I had met some of those actors in real life so it made it that much harder to see it go.

*hugs*

I'm one of the few people who has never watched a single LOST episode. It's almost like being a leper. ;-)

I loved the series. But the finale left more to be desired for me. I was unsatisfied and felt they kind of ruined it with the ending because it made me feel like if they were dead, what's the purpose? It just sorta killed it. I still love the whole story- but that ending didn't cut it for me. It was a fail.

I've never seen it. But I agree about it being better to see everything all at once!!! I hate to be left hanging too!

So, we started watching this on Netflix when we were all caught up on "Dexter" and "MI5". And boy oh boy, are we hooked. We're going to have to be completely done by the time Neal leaves for Iraq or he's going to be a hot mess. We are only about 6 shows into season 1, so really just starting out. But we do really enjoy it. And as a general rule, we only watch the History Channel, the Discovery Channel or that crazy Democrat TV...but we are fairly hooked on this show. I hear it only gets worse. ;)

Oh and "Sawyer" lives in the building where our friends live in Hawaii. So, I guess you could stay we stayed where he stayed?? Since they film so much of it on O'ahu, he just made a home there, I think. And apparently he had a big cookout last summer and the whole cast was hanging out around the pool. And my friend blogs and somehow she never got around to posting THOSE pictures. That's just wrong, wrong, wrong.

I think I'm still in denial.

9:00 last night I was all, "Why isn't Lost on?!"

Oh, yeah...

I don't think there is another show that will ever be able to fill the void. I am, Lost. :)
