My Sunday Blessings

Happy Mother's Day!

I am a mother of three great kids, although my first two are now old enough to be considered adults!!! Yikes! How is that even possible?? All the milestones, all the illnesses and doctor visits, school plays and sports, scholastic awards - and they flew through it all! I hope to be too senile to realize I'm losing Bella when it's finally her turn to fly the nest, lol! We tend to lose sight of time in the day-to-day details of living and raising our children, only to one day be shocked and amazed that it's time for them to leave us.

Being a Mom is hard and demanding, and yet so fulfilling and rewarding that you can't imagine these people not being in your life. And it's so important that we "get it right", that we spend many, many moments wondering if we did a good enough job and if they'll survive our best efforts! Mommy Guilt - what a drag!!!!

So this year I'm going to do something different, and I encourage you to join me....

If you're a Mother, give yourself the credit you deserve!! It's the hardest job on the planet and the pay is in the form of PB&J, sticky hugs and kisses. It's going from "my Mom knows everything" to being "old and out of it" and back again. We are our children's first and most influential teachers. Our kisses instantly heal the most painful of scrapes and bruises. We read the same book fifty bazillion times, with the "voices", just one more time. Even now I know every word of Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?

We do it because we love these little creatures more than we thought it was possible to love. They capture our hearts for all time upon first sight and never release us. Our entire lives change and priorities are forever rearranged. We do the very best we can, through it all, every day. Some days we shine in our efforts, and some days are better left forgotten. We make mistakes and do things we wish we hadn't. But we do it all with our entire hearts filled with love!

So if you have been brave enough to be a Mother, I say BRAVO!!!! And job well done! Allow yourself, for once, to accept the compliment without announcing all the reasons why you shouldn't be. It's your day and you've earned it!!! (There is also no shame in milking it for all it's worth too, just sayin!!)

Card Bella made for me!

Thomas was going to make a card for me but I accidentally foiled his plans. Sorry hun! He did however get me an AWESOME new die that will make rick rack out of paper (*squeal!!!!*), and these incredible gel pens!

Happy Mother's Day! I love the card your little doll made you!

PS. I see Yaya's Joy on your sidebar. Did it go through? I have no idea what's going on with them and I miss her terribly. I lost her email when my old computer died.

Great post today Jeannie. Happy Mother's Day to you. Being a mom can be the greatest joys in life and at the same be the biggest heartaches ever felt. My oldest three who are more than old enough to be called adults...have been long gone and I only hope I still live in their hearts. I know they are in mine..always!! I'm just blessed and so happy that I still have my Chazman at home to give those PB&J smoochies and hugs..LOL!!

Hugs,
Regi

I looks like you had a wonderful day. I made the mistake of telling JDaniel we celebrated Mother's Day because of him. I think he thought it was his day.

I hope you had a great day. Me, well...it kind of is just another day in our household. Though Jason did buy me pop without a lecture about how I am slowing killing myself;)

But, when I got your ecard, the day got brighter.

Did I hear your right? Thomas was going to make you a card!!??
