Memorial Day Remembrance

As a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and current Army wife, I know first hand the sacrifices made by our troops, past and present. Those men and women who are willing to risk all, to ensure our freedoms. This isn't something they take lightly, and neither should we. Right now, someone is on patrol or on a mission, far from home and their loved ones. They'd love to be home today, grilling out and enjoying a cold beer. But they are duty bound to accept the missions given to them and to fight the hard battles on our behalf. Please keep them in mind today, because this is their day! God bless our heroes, past, present and future!
Please, remember to thank a service member when you see them. It really means the world to them, and they have earned our respect and gratitude!

Tell your husband Thank you for me. I have already thanked mine. U.S. Navy - Vietnam. I would love to thank my dad too...U.S. Navy - WWII. I wanted to so get him to Washington to see the WWII monument...but it was not meant to be. Have a blessed Memorial Day. Memorial Day is always a tough day for me.

You said it, Jeannie! Thank you and your husband for your service. Little Bella has my gratitude for her sacrifices as well. I'm in awe at what we ask our kids to do, because they don't get a choice when daddy has to leave.

Thanks to all the military branches and those who lost their lives serving. We appreciate our soldiers, sailors, and air men. Bring them all home safely, please God.

Much love and appreciation from one Army family to another! I know this time next year, we will be not quite half way through a 13 month tour in Iraq and that Neal leaves tomorrow at 0700 for 30 days in CA and that makes today bittersweet for me (right now he's on a conference call with the colonel...otherwise I'd be cuddled up to him). Y'know we choose to be married to these military service members, but when you feel the support and appreciation of the country, it makes this lifestyle so much easier. (Because even though you get to move to Italy and I got to move south, we sacrificed a LOT to get here...thank heavens it was not the ultimate sacrifice.) Thank you for this beautiful reminder of what today means.

Thank you and Thomas and every other man or woman who has served, or still is serving, this great country of ours. Some have given the ultimate sacrifice.
