How To Train Your Dragon

What a fun movie!! Of course it was EXPENSIVE though! Holy moly!!! When the chick at the ticket counter said $35.00 just for TICKETS I nearly had a heart attack. When did ticket prices go so insane???? And we had gone to a matinee too!!!!

Anyway, Bella loved it, although it was a bit long for her. She needs something either shorter or with more, constant action. It was an engaging storyline so parents are not bored and the 3D aspect was amazing. It certainly has come a long way!!!! Bella was amazed too and kept reaching out, lol! That was pretty fun to watch as well!

After the movie I wasn't feeling well (poor choice of eating a hotdog there I'm sure!!!), but still needed to pop into Hobby Lobby to pick up prizes for bunco this month. I'm the April Hostess!!! I got realllllly cute stuff but I can't post it yet because several of the ladies actually browse my blog! I can't wait though!!!!

What movie(s) have you seen lately? Were you in sticker shock at the prices??

There were a few news reports last week that said the ticket prices for those 3D movies are more expensive because not many theaters have the equipment to show them. I think they said most 3D movie tickets were in the $18 range. I haven't watched a movie in a theater in a long time. I usually wait until it comes out on DVD. I finally bought The Blind Side last Friday, but we haven't watched it yet.

holly molly, girly! Did you go in the evening????
My hubby and I go see a movie almost every weekend (well, unless there is nothing there to see :) ) and if you on a weekend and holidays before noon, the tickets are only $5 and it is $8 for 3D. But I totally agree - the prices are ridiculous!!!!
Glad you both enjoed the movie! :)

Consider the high movie prices an investment for when you get to train your own dragon (think Bella when she hits the teen years!) :)

Its been years since I've gone to a theater other than an Omni one at the Smithonian.

$35.00?! Are you kidding me? And I thought a $10.00 movie ticket is expensive.

My 12 yr. old son is dying to see this movie, he read it for book club a little while back so he's anxious to see the movie. I'll probably let him so see it this weekend...but my goodness, there is no way I'm paying $35 for a movie and a matinee, you say? Unbelievable.

Glad Bella enjoyed the movie though. Oh and I can't wait to see what prizes you got for bunco night.

I'd love to take Em to see that movie I'm glad you liked it. The last one we saw in the theater was the princess and the frog. Em loved all the music but you are definantly right, ticket prices have become outrageous!

I'm not a fan of 3D movies b/c the effects don't outweigh the cost in my book.
I saw "The Bounty Hunter" and it was HILARIOUS! Best romantic comedy since "The Ugly Truth" and "The Proposal"

The matinee only takes about a dollar off the price. Maybe. It costs almost $100 for our whole family to go see a movie in the regular theater. CRAZY! We wait until most movies come out on dvx and then buy them for $3. However, we might see this dragon one in the dollar theater. It looks really cute. I think all our kids would enjoy it!
