My Sunday Blessings

Holy Moly! What a week it's been!!! This time last week I thought I was either dying or wishing I was, I was so sick. I honestly don't remember EVER being that sick in my life - it was that bad!!! So take note my peeps: ** DO NOT EAT RAW ONIONS IN ANY TYPE OF RESTAURANT!!!! ** And if you use onion at home, don't put the leftovers in ziplock baggies to use "later". Throw them out!!!! Otherwise they are just bacteria and virus factories!! Onions are cheap. Your health is priceless!
*********************************************
I'd never seen this one before.
It made me laugh. A lot.
Draw your own conclusions...
**************************************************
Progress being made on UN-mounting my wood mounted stamp sets.
I bought 160 DVD cases....and even though I can usually get 2 sets in a case (sometimes 3, sometimes only 1), I think I'm going to need MORE cases and MORE cling. Ugh!!
These cases were stacked up until just under this ribbon rack.
Getting there!
So no, I'm not done yet. Not even by half.
Christina? I'm so jealous of you, lol!!!
************************************************
I won two incredibly awesome bloggy contests, and from the same blogger!! How awesome is that?? HUGE thanks to Sweet Jeanette!!!
This beautiful, hand made quilt is actually a wall hanging. Here you can see my Bellaboo showing it off. She thought it was awesome too! It will look amazing in my villa in Italy...
AND I won her handmade bookmark (so cute with flip flop charms!!!) and this good-enough-to-eat heart ice cream cone!! Love it!!!
****************************************************
Another reason I couldn't blog much (you know besides being sick as a dog!!), is that I had my 5 for $5 scheduled for Friday morning!!! It was my idea to change the time from evening to lunch time and have a fancy, Moms only lunch! I really cannot believe I completely forgot to take pictures!!! But it was reallllly pretty! I made little paper spring baskets filled with chocolates for each place setting, and set the table with my good china and gold flatware!!!! Normally I only use them twice a year and isn't that pretty silly? So now I'm going to use them....All.The.Time! Life is short; use your good china often and eat dessert first, lol!

Here are the cards I designed for this round:
Each guest got to pick what color & types of flowers to use and the greeting. Perfect for sending a loved one those school pictures!

Birthday Card

Lovely Parisian "hello" card

Simple St. Patrick's Day card

Releasing that inner "kindergartener" card, lol! Everyone could color this adorable mouse card, or leave it as is.
*************************************************
Last Monday, the 22nd, marked my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF QUITTING SMOKING! I can't believe I've finally done it because I've tried many times before and it never stuck. I was just too addicted and enjoyed it so much. I still have times when I miss the stress relief I used to get from them, but NEVER miss the cigarettes themselves. I simply cannot stand the smell and get sick to my stomache immediately when I smell it on others. I'm so grateful to be free!!!!
To mark the occasion, Rachel made me this fantastic card!! Isn't it awesome??? She's always been such a great friend and a huge support to me! Love ya Rachel!!!!
*******************************************************
Even though I'm not a "real" Demonstrator with Stampin Up, I was still pretty tickled when I received this promotion certificate!!! Basically, it means I'm a really dedicated shopper with them, lol!
****************************************************
I've received some new bloggy awards!
The first two are from Charlene at The Balance Beam. Thank you so much!!
-----------------------------------
This one is from Christina at Christina's Creative Expressions.
I think she is pretty gorgeous herself!!!
----------------------------------------
This one is from Melissa at The Scholastic Scribe.
You WISH your kids had her for a teacher!!
---------------------------------------------------
I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember who gave this one to me!! I received it twice before and posted it, but then I got it again just before I was sick and now I've forgotten. Thank you very much though!!!!

As always, if you don't have any of these awards, please take them with my blessing! I hate picking and choosing people because I hate to make anyone feel left out!
*********************************************
Today is my 3rd Blogoversary!!
Three years of blah, blah, blah blogging, lol!!!

I had intended to have a week long celebration like we did last year, but frankly, I'm just too busy and too tired to monkey around with all that fuss. Just think, next year I'll be in Italy and have lovely Italian goodies to give away!!!! (squeal!!!) I did however have a lovely bracelet made again this year to give away to one lucky follower of this blog!
Isn't it lovely??? Rose quartz, sterling silver chain with crown charm, with pearls and crystals!! It's realllly pretty and I wanna keep it for myself, lol!
But I'm not - it's for YOU lucky reader!!

Huge thanks to Pyper Dow at A Girl's First Gems! She did an amazing custom job for me and has a lovely Etsy shop. Please do check her out because her prices are insanely low and the quality is top notch!!
Love it!!!

Worth playing for? Of course!!
Rules:
1. You MUST be a follower of this blog!
2. Leave a comment about the ONE THING you like most about my blog.

That's it! Easy peasy!! Contest open to all followers until midnight EST Saturday, March 6th. The winner will be drawn by The Bella next Sunday and announced on next week's Blessings post. Good luck everyone!!

Wow! Your cards are delightful. I just found another "thing" I have to buy! I love the emblossed flowers.
Congrats for being cigarette free for a year!!!! I'm so proud of you.

Your stamp storage is coming along very nicely. I can't believe how much more storage you are going to have!!!!!

You are awesome! That's why I love your blog....it's the next best thing to knowing you!

I'd have to say the one thing I like most about your blog...is that you're a Kick-A Army Wife that isn't afraid to tell it like it is :o)

Great cards as always, and I've been hearing really bad things about onions lately too!!! Feel better, and know I'm sending you big hugs from Florida!

First off..welcome back to the land of the living, ok sounds kinda stupid but you know what I mean. Glad you are much better. I once ate raw onion in a sandwich while my hub and I were driving to Tennessee from Texas, I got so sick from the darn onion that I never want to eat raw onion again..even the thought of it makes me gag and that was 19 years ago.

Second..I thought it's totally cool that your smoke free anniversary is the same day as my wedding anniversary.

Thirdly, loooove cards as always. The stack of dvds and the task of switching your stamp to acrylic is making me tired just looking at the stack. And congratulations on the SU promotion. I know SU is thrilled to have you on board.

Last but no least...that bracelet is absolutely beautiful, I want it baaaadly..eheheh. Hmmmm, one thing I like about your blog..it's totally an inspirational one for me.

You are so darn organized! And one year smoke free is amazing.

I'm glad you are feeling better. Onions...humm. I always put them in a plastic bag. Thanks for the info.

HUGE congrats for your 2 year anniversary. Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things to do!!! You should be really proud of yourself.

I am a follower and a fan. I like everything about you and your blog. Your funny "posters" make my smile...all the time.

Italy- I can not wait for you to describe the gelato. I love me some gelato!!! :D

OMG I can't believe its 3 years! It seems like you've been doing this foreva! And I've been a fan/follower since year 1 (I think). I just love it.

Tell you one thing I love about your blog is just way too difficult. There are just so many things - from the Bella and those oh so cute pictures and videos, and the recipes we would live for, to Caturday and now your cards/stamping projects. See I told you if was just way too difficult to name just one!

Congrats on a whole year of quitting smoking. I just know how hard that is but it is a great accomplishment! Hey maybe being stationed in Italy is your "reward" for quitting. I will have to think about that one.

Feel better - I'm wanting that gorgeous bracelet to come to me "germ-free" :) Sorry I just had to - cause I would really love to win that one!

SO glad you are feeling better! I had food poisoning once and once is all it takes - boy oh boy nasty stuff! Onions? Who Knew!!

Your cards are so great - Love them !

And HUGE Congratulations for being smoke free!!!! That is a serious accomplishment :D

First my favorite thing about your blog is the castle! I love how everything is "decorated."
And way to go on not smoking anymore! I quit 4 years ago and it was the best thing that I ever did for myself. And eventually, the cravings and the thought of one go away. My dad died and it didn't even cross my mind. So eventually, it won't even be a thought!

AliceKay said...

I'm glad you're feeling much better now. I don't eat onions so no need to worry about that with me.

Congrats on your one year anniversary of not smoking and your three year anniversary in Blogger. Time flies when you're having fun...and even when you're not. LOL

That's a beautiful quilt. You were very lucky to have won it. Bella looks pleased as punch to be "modeling" it for us, too. :)

Im so glad you are feeling better, I am soooo jealous of that quilt it is just so beautiful, and wow on the blog awards you definitely deserve every one of them. I love your cards, you always do such a wonderful job on those, I hope you have a great week! HUGS

Wow my dear check it out, you rocked at getting all the stamps put together. You're so freaking crafy, and amazing!

Ok I'm so jealous over that quilt that is just beautiful!!!

Congrats on your awards :)

Wow 3 years that is so awesome. I'm so excited I found you, I love stopping by along with seeing your comments you always make me smile :).

You have had so much going on! The cards look great! Congrats on the awards.

First you know I'd follow you anywhere if I could! Stupid Army. (SO not feeling love there right now!)

Second your cards are fabulous. I love them. I didn't create while doing the big change , so I am mighty jealous!

Third, wow you need more cases and cling....I honestly didn't think about putting 2 or more in one case until i realized what a waste of space I was creating so I have ton left over after doing even Tac and other stamps sets in the dvd cases! Honestly all that means is I am jealous and I don't spend nearly enough on stamps LOL.

Fourth I am so proud if you for sticking to being a non smoker! You are awesome and have tremendous spirit. I never doubted you!

Finally what i love most about your blog. It is such a reflection of the true you. You rock!

THAT. IS. ALL. ( cause wow it was mouthful )

One thing? I don't know if I can name one thing I like about your blog. I love your cards. I love the Monets...the Caturdays...but I guess if I had to pick one thing I like about your blog...it owuld have to be you! You have encouraged me countless times this year with a card, an email, a comment...and I value you and your friendship.

Deanna said...

I'm so glad you are feeling better! I had heard onions are worse than mayonnaise when left out or even cut open and then refrigerated. You are living proof.

Awesome cards!

There is not one thing I like about you blog. There are dozens! The best is that it is feel good and upbeat almost all th time. And of course, there is Bella.

I am coveting that bracelet :)

Heatherlyn said...

Wow a year! Congratulations! That went by pretty fast! It's much healthier to be addicted to stamps! What a great idea to put them in the dvd cases.

I like quilts as wall hangings.

And now I'm going to go throw away all the onions in ziplock bags that are in my fridge!

CyndeJo said...

Wow, I really, really want that bracalet!! It is gorgemous!!!!
I have loved your blog since I found it :o) It is always so happy and fun. If I have a bad day, I know where to come for a pick me up. And who could not love Caturdays?!

foxy said...

Okay, there's so much in this one, I've got to make a list...

1) who knew about onions?? that's really what made you sick? I've never heard of such a thing...

2) GREAT progress on your stamps :)

3) MUCHO CONGRATULATIONS on your one year anny of quitting smoking. That is a hard task indeed. I know from experience. Way to go, sister!

4) the bracelet is lovely! What i like most about your blog, besides you of course, is your constant encouragement. You're very positive and that quality is contagious!

Hi Jeannie!
I love that pretty bracelet!!! There are so many things that I love about your blog, but I, especially, love that you're REAL! I admire that so much about you!

Grand Pooba said...

Yaaaay! I'm gonna win the bracelet okay? Just letting you know in advance.

The thing I like best about your blog is you. Well, you and Bella. Well, you, Bella and hot soldier man. You always draw me in with your stories and make me feel like I'm right there with you!

Annie said...

Sooo happy you're back and feeling better! YES, that's the best advise about the onions (my mom tought me that few years back and it totally stuck), and you're right- your health is priceless!!!! And speaking of health - CONGRATS on being smoke free for a whole year - good job!
Your cards are super darling! Love how they are all different - really cool.
What I love about your blog - honestly... everything! But the best part is that regardless of how crappy my day was - I can come here and read your funny and sacrastic posts and feel whole lot better :) And for that I thank YOU!!!!!
Hugs!

And what do I love about your blog? I have to say just ONE thing?? That's hard. Ok, I will go with an easy one (but this is not the only thing I love about your blog)....

I love that your Caturday can get my Husband who does not get blogging at all, to stop whatever he is doing to come and read it.

You crack me up! I had so much fun at your card party! But... umm.. I didn't get to eat dessert first? Maybe it's a good thing, if we at the pumpkin trifle first, I may not have had room for the rest of the delicious food! Thanks so much! I hope you got my card with the money in it! Let me know when the nest one is! And don't forget about Bunco! Email invite coming soon!

Rachel said...

Jeanne! You're so fabulous! I just LOVE ya! I love your cards, I love your family, and most of all YOU! I don't think I can narrow it to just ONE thing I like about your blog... but I guess I'd say that I love seeing all your card creations! I don't always get to see them in person... so it's good to see them on here! I think you're amazing and I hope I win...

That is such an easy question for me to answer! The best thing about your blog is YOU! I feel like you are the girlfriend across town, not across the many states that we are separated by. Your personality shines through your blog. I have always loved your blog design too. I have told you before it is my all time favorite! Happy Blogoversary to you girlfriend!
