Happy Birthday Alexandria!!

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you. Please don't take my sunshine away!!

I love you more than the sun, and the moon and the stars!

Today my first baby is 20 years old!!! Of course that is impossible because I am myself only 32-ish. {{ahem}} But alas, it is true. I kept feeding her and clothing her and that ungrateful rat went and grew up on me. And I can't even ground her!! Life is just so unfair!!!!
Here is your birthday cake!

And your flowers!

And your cookie bouquet!!

Oh that's right...you've abandoned your poor, sweet Mother gone on to live your own life. With the Doofus. Overseas. Far, far away. Where I can't see you everyday and make sure you're eating enough vegetables. Or anything!!!

Luckily you were born when digital cameras weren't around and I don't have a scanner. If I did, you'd be getting embarrassed by baby pics. You get a reprieve for a year. After that, no promises!!!

When you were still living with ME, I bought you fancy dresses and let you go to balls!

And...I allowed you to associate with good looking boys who had ambition and went to college!

My masterpiece!!!
I created you. And did your hair and makeup!!!

Looks and brains and scholarships, oh my!!

And you were always around to do the techie, electronic crap I hate dealing with, for me. I could do it myself, {{I think}}, but why??

Playing with Bella in the new house.

Two sisters - one incredible bond

Last year with Sasha - best damn cat ever!

Playing xbox with Bella during Easter. Your last visit before moving to Germany.

Saying goodbye.

I tried to not be that Mother. The neurotic, clingy, wont-let-go, blubbering Mother. Epic fail!!! It was so hard to let you go, knowing it would be a longgggggggg time before I would see you again, and not even knowing when that would be. But I had to. Because you were all grown up (DAMMIT!!!!), and beginning a new chapter on your own. But you will always be my first baby and I will always love you. NO ONE will love you more than me!!!!

So...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!!!

Now go clean up your room!

SHe's a beautiful girl. I hope she is safe and well and that the doofus (I have no idea what his real name is!) is spoiling her on her birthday!!!

Awww Jeannie..this is such a beautiful birthday post for your daughter, I am actually in tears right now. I feel the same way about my oldest daughter. Something about them being the oldest, I feel I practically grew up with my oldest daughter, I'm not really looking forward to her moving out of my house.

Your daughter, Alex, is very beautiful, just like her mom.

Happy birthday, Alex! Jeannie, you should celebrate her bday by getting yourself the best darn tasting and looking cake and all the presents you meant for her and throw yourself a party, video taped it and send it to her. After all, who did all the work to her into this world?

Happy Birthday to your daughter! Reminds me so much of my daughter, because I sang "You are my sunshine" to her so much as she was growing up. Just ask her? LOL

She is beautiful and I am glad you shared her pictures with us all.

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Happy Birthday Alex!

You share your birthday with another that is near and dear to my heart .... my son Dan was born this day as well, just 4 years before you.

He too has gone and grown up and left home for bigger and better things - just not as far as you did. But we mom's have to realize that we raised you and gave you wings - no matter how hard it is, we must let go.

As you grow and spread your wings and find your own path remember to hug mom every way you can - that means call/write/email/comment on her blog. And know that she is forever proud of you.

OH I just LOVE a tribute in pictures!! It tempts me to send you the extra scanner sitting under the desk so that we might continue this little jaunt down memory lane. I would love to see the fashions of the 80's as demonstrated by your daughter! Happy Birthday, Alex. Here's to hoping that your "doofus" is spoiling you rotten and none of your gifts are wrapped in red and green paper!

Happy Birthday Alexandria!

...that doofus is one lucky guy! Not only is she smart, loving and beautiful, she has the same in her Mom.

I never saw - I hope she recovered fully from that car accident? And Thomas has recovered too from his emergency visit to the hospital?

Nice to see a birthday tribute like this - birthdays so close to Christmas might tend to get lost.
