Gretchen Rubin was so happy that I used her article last week on GTT, that she sent me an email with MORE happiness tips!! How awesome is that?? Be sure to check out her blog HERE and get details on her book!!! It really looks great! If anyone would like the PDF file she sent me, just shoot me an email, ok?
9 Tips to stick to a schedule of regular exercise:
1. Always exercise on Mondays!
2. Never skip exercising for two days in a row.
3. Don't link exercise to weight loss. Exercise for sanity not vanity.
4. Give yourself credit for the smallest effort.
5. Think about context. Do you hate the loud music in your gym? Re-think your choices.
6. Exercise frequently. If you think you're staying in shape by playing pick-up basketball, you should be playing four or five times a week.
7. If you don't have time both to exercise and take a shower, find exercise where you don't need to shower afterward.
8. Spend money to make exercising more pleasant. Exercise is a high life priority, so this is the place to splurge a bit if that helps.
9. Remember: belonging to a gym doesn't mean you go to the gym, and just because you were in shape in college doesn't mean you're in shape now!

Great tips, I really wanted to skip my workout this morning (but I won't)!!
Tip 7 is a good one - I used to run a mile at lunch time where I used to work - and ending up doing sponge baths out of a mens room sink.
Great tips....now if I actually do them...
I know it's sick, but I love excercising...
I can't skip a day or else I fall off the wagon.
Those are really good tips :)
Great tips. For me #7 especially. I am not particularly fond of exercise and if I get sweaty and have to shower....again it makes it even less appealing.
Hhhmmmm good list.
Awesome tips. I am definitely a happier person when I am regularly working out.
these are excellent tips. i believe all of them, because i've not done all of them at some point...and stopped exercising.
i just need to start exercisinjg again...
I like these tips. I need to get motivated to exercize!
I cant skip more than a day otherwise I fall right off. Needless to say, this week's been horrid because I havent been on the bike since September. However, I also have been ill and if I ride when I'm even slightly sick runs the resistance down farther and just makes me iller. I hope to be back on track by Monday.
Awesome tips, but easier said than done. Sigh.
OY I Know I feel my best when I exercise. Now if that stupid heel spur would take a vaca we'd be back in business.
Amen to Numero Nueve!
These are awesome tips...ones I really should be following! I get into a great routine of working out and then I end up skipping a day or two due to one of the kid's being sick or something comes up and...booom....I stop working out altogether.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog on my SITS day! And thank you for the follow...I'm following you now too! Hope you'll visit again soon!
Thanks again Jeanne! Best wishes, Gretchen Rubin
Thanks for sharing the great exercise tips. Maybe I'll get motivated soon and put some of them to use! I found you at Mimi's blog. You have a really nice blog! :)
I love these tips!! :)
Great tips. So far I've felt so much better because I've been exercising. I really like the onoe about not expecting exercise to mean weight loss. If it happens, that is a bonus, but I am doing it for me!
Awesome...thanks so much for sharing. SITS sent me by, and I'm glad they did!
Bring Me Ben & Jerry's, Please!
Hi visiting form SITS.
It must be fate that I came here and saw your post. I was trying to come up with a reason not to go to the gym!
I think most of the guys at my last class reunion need that last tip!
