Lucy had another vet appointment this morning. She has NO MORE ear mites (she had a metric ton of ear gunk filled with mites), NO MORE fleas (hardly any left when we got her) and has doubled her weight in two weeks!! She went from 0.9 lbs to 1.8 lbs!! Her left eye is no longer infected or inflamed, and the ulcer is shrinking rapidly. We still won't know if she will be able to see out of it, or if it will mean permanent damage, but she's healing!!!! Thomas asked if she'd have to wear a patch, lmao!!!! Then he tried to play it off like he was kidding. (*wink* sure hun!) She's getting so healthy that they are going to start the vaccines early, starting next Monday. Of course she will also be getting fixed - cha-ching!! Oh well, this furbaby is worth it!
Thomas saw a male, orange tabby kitten up for adoption. Thomas - you know the dude I'm married to that HATES cats? Yeah, him. He wants this cat!!! He even took a picture of him with his phone!! I'm not sure about another cat. And male cats spray, even if you fix 'em. So I'm thinking no. But holy moly, you could have knocked me over with a feather when he asked!!!!

Hooray for Lucy! And everyone comes around to love sweet little kittens eventually. You just have to wear 'em down!
Awww, I'm glad Lucy is doing good! Yeah, my hubster hated cats too before we got one ourselves. The HE brought home another cat from the clinic. That damn cat won't leave his side!
Do they really spray no matter what? I have not had a male cat ever. Except this one kitten my brother brought home and my family raised it with an eyedropper and milk from the time it was so so tiny. He didn't spray. It's always nice when the hubby surprises you in a way that lets you know he can warm up to things. :)
So glad she's doing better!
Some males spray some don't and the earlier you neuter the better your chances. I've had 6 males over the years, 2 sprayed 4 did not. Luckily, Joe the newest, does not!
That is such good news! And for the uninformed....spray is??? Urine, scent marking?
Great news! I share in your joy.
Yea for Lucy. That's funny about your hubby and the male cat. We have a male cat and he is good about not spraying, but our previous male cat thought his only goal in life was to mark his territory.
Yeaa Lucy glad to hear she's on the mend!
Glad to hear that your baby is on the road to recovery!
That's great! Good for you for nursing her back to health! :0)
Poor kitty - Glad she is doing better! That was a little list of things gone wrong.
So funny that your hubby would want another cat - Men usually run from cats!
So happy your kitty is doing better, she must have some strong affect on your hubby!!
So glad she is doing better! Just say NO to male cats. Though we miss ours ( he passed a year ago) we are glad we dont have to deal with the "spraying " issues.
I'm so glad she's doing better!
And Academy is a sporting goods store!
Good vet report for Lucy. I'm glad she is coming along well. The video you posted recently was cute.
I've had several male cats over the years and none of them have ever sprayed after they were neutered. The key is to get it done as soon as you can...I think it's still at 6 months of age. If you wait too late, they'll spray no matter what. (like my nephew's cat right down the driveway from me who comes up here all the time) :\
I am so glad to hear that Lucy is thriving. That is wonderful! I cannot believe about Thomas....asking for a cat! Will wonders never cease. I thought the two of us - Thomas and myself would be the last two holdouts on earth. I can't breathe around cats...I actually like them...I love their attitudes....so much cooler than a dogs...but when I am around them....it is nebulizer time because I AM going to have some degree of asthma attack. I have missed reading you....but I am back to being me....and can't wait to catch up on all I have missed. Have a great Tuesday!
Yea Lucy! Yea You! and LOL Thomas - gotta love him, don't ya.
My Claudius never sprayed after he was fixed. Then again he was the only male for a long time too. Even after we acquired a couple more males and got them fixed, we never had a problem with the ones that were neutered.
Pirate kitty...hehe....
I'm so glad Lucy is doing better. A metric ton? Really? (I hope that's an exaggeration, lol).
I had 2 male cats for years, and I never had a problem with them spraying.
