My Sunday Blessings

The Adventure Begins!
Approx. 3:30 PM Friday, we start bringing up the boxes Thomas is Army Strong!!!
(and has a cute butt too, but don't look!!!)
I told him he looked tired, and he made this face!

Me and my big mouth!!!
In good conscience, I really couldn't recommend this stupid thing to anyone. The directions, such as they were, were incomplete and inaccurate. NONE of the hardware was labeled!! You would do 15 steps, only to find out that #16 needed to be done first. It was alot of guesswork, doing and then undoing then redoing!! STRESS!!! And when assembled it doesn't take up much room but WHILE ASSEMBLING you need tons. I will admit to droping the first "F Bomb", when I tripped and actually broke a piece on the way down. I publicly apologize to my Sweet Baboo for all the words and stress I brought upon us. At least we got it done, even if it took us till 11 PM!!!!! I love you honey!
Saturday morning, next step - the shelves That couldn't be that bad...right?? WRONG!!!
First I made all the drawers. These are actually very cool!
Bella was SOOOO GOOD Fri night and all day Saturday! My back, thumbs and pointer fingers will never recover!! They are so sore and swollen today!!!! Those stupid plastic do-hickies that hold up the shelves didn't just go in - oh no!! Twist, twist, twist - every dang one and each shelf had four. PLUS I kept changing my mind about where I wanted stuff so this was an all-freakin-day-long project.
Finally!! All the shelves done and starting to fill 'em up! Lugging in all the "stuff" from the other room It was ALOT of stuff!!
Starting to make some progress! ALL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Left side
Middle
Right side
Under desk

I am so blessed and grateful to my HUSBAND, who will buy me this thing, and stick with me till the completion of building it!! I wanted to throw it out the window and aim for the curb!!! I also wanted to smoke soooo badly - worse than at any point so far. But I didn't, and only because Thomas wouldn't let me, lol!!

Update: Now that a couple of months have passed, it WAS worth it, lol! Building this was a nightmare but using it has been a dream. I really love going in my Stamping Studio now!!

What an achievement! Hopefully it's worth it now.

Glad you finally got it all put together. Things never seem to be as easy as they make it look.

You know, you could just get folded right up in there, and no one would find you for days! LOL

I loved the look Thomas gave you when you were like "Ohh, cute butt."

That is so cool! Awesome job Thomas. Not only for putting that beautiful piece together but for also managing to keep Jeannie on track with that fight against addiction. Which reminds me, Jeannie dear....you got something over on my site. :) Last one will be at the 1 year mark.

I love how organized it made everything looks. Oh I'm sooo jealous..lol.

So was it worth all the hard work? It looks wonderful! It is so much easier to craft if all your things are organized, not that I would know anything abou that since my craft room is a disaster right now : )

Kathy

Jeannie, I am so jealous!! But not so much when it took you fifty years to build:)

Oh my goodness! I don't think we would have survived that project. You two stuck with it amazingly! And completed it! It looks great. I cannot believe how much you have accumulated in such a short amount of time. ENJOY! (and hang on to Thomas - he is definitely a keeper)

Well, two good things happened as a result: It turned out to be worth the effort, and you got a fun blog post!

Stopping in from SITS. I hope you had a great holiday!

One word - WOW!

It's really smart to have space for all your stuff to get it organized, I need that too (not those shelves but things organized). I know what you mean about assembling things, nice Thomas was able to help you with that and keep you going. We try to avoid buying things that need assembling because I'm the one who has to fuss with those instructions and doo-hingys. Very stressful, indeed! Good job though!

Congrats on your SITS day!

That is so awesome! I totally need to focus on doing some kind of reorganizing at my house here in the new year. Thank you for the inspiration!! :)

Visiting from SITS and this is FABULOUS!!! As a crafty, scrapbooking, card making, sewing, arts-fartsy mama I love it : ) I would have dropped the F-bomb multiple times assembling that thing.

Great job for both of you sticking with it, it's totally worth it and your daughter will love sitting there with you and crafting over the years building great memories together.

Happy SITS day!!

Seriously... that thing looked like a major pain! But it looked really neat when you and your husband finished it. Congrats on not smoking :). I quit 2 years ago and it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself!

Congratulations on your SITS day.

What a lucky lady you are to have a fabulous crafting space. Women all over the world are coveting such a space. How cool that your husband is so handy too. Do you know what I call a man who is handy around the house? The sexiest man alive!

Kearsie said...

Wow that is a lot of stamping supplies! It's like your own Michael's/Joann's/Hobby Lobby/AC Moore right in your house!

I must say, I'm a wee bit jealous.

Oh my gosh- that's so awesome! i can't say worth it though- at least it wouldn't be here- my husband and I took 12 hours just to put together a tv stand from Walmart last June. :( This would send us to divorce court for sure, lol. enjoy it though!!!

WOW! I need to show my husband this thing!! I would show you my crafting corner-- but its EMBARASSING!!! LOL

That is seriously the coolest thing ever! Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if you KNEW it was going to be bad going in.

Worth a try anyway, I suppose.

It's most definitely cooler than my craft room makeover!

Another SU Stamper - Yeah!!! I love the organized stamp closet but I think my hubby and I may have divorced if we had to put that together. I'm lucky enough to have my own room and the closet had build in's already when we moved in - so happy about that. Happy SITS day.
