My New "Office"

Once upon a time, this was my pretty little sitting room. It was MOMMY'S room. No boys or kids allowed! Only me!! (and Sasha) Someplace quiet and pretty, where I could read a good book, cross stitch, contemplate the meaning of life..........so basically it was this pretty room that NEVER got used, by anyone for anything! Kinda dumb huh???
The coffee table was always polished and clutter-free.
The wardrobe closet had a couple of books in it...but otherwise, EMPTY!

And then January 16, 2009 came.
The Day!!!!
The day Rachel came over and introduced me to the Stampin Up! cult company! And my life has never been the same since! WOOOO HOOOO!!
I worked on these last night. To be appearing in Easter cards near you SOON!!
See this? This is what is known in my house as a "shit pile". Not to say that it's shit, oh no!!! It's just a disorganized pile of stuff, where it doesn't belong!!! This never happens in my house people because Miss Jeannie does not tolerate disorganization!!!! And in MY sitting room of all places??? Puh-lease!!! But this is what happens when your compulsive addiction latest hobby starts getting just a teeny, tiny bit outta hand. On the left, latest pile of eBay finds (that gi-normous stack of paper for only $14.50!!), and on the right Christina's goodies. See? Even other people are contributing to my madness, lol!!
File this under fabulous ideas! This is my stamp set notebook. As I get new sets in (daily), I stamp each one on plain paper and highlight the set name. That way when I want to make a card, I can flip through my book to pick out which stamps I want to use. A phrase from this set, a picture from that set, etc. Cool huh??
Remember that polished, clutter-free coffee table? HA! Not so much anymore!!! But....this is where the magic happens!
Remember the nearly empty wardrobe closet?
TA DA!!!!!
It is only because I am sooooo good at organization that this much crap awesome stuff can fit in here. I mean I'm GOOD people!! And yet, I'm starting to come to the conclusion that there really is a finite amount of space in here and that eventually (SOON!), I'm not going to be able to get even a single piece of paper more in here. I'll keep you posted...
Top and shelf one
See those books on the left?? Yeah, that was all that was in here originally!! My new paper and bag on top too. WON'T FIT INSIDE!!! Oh dear!
(go ahead and click to enlarge. I KNOW you're nosey!!)
Next two shelves.
Bottom shelves.

Only recently has Thomas begun to question me, and asked if I had "enough" stamp stuff yet. LMAO!!!! Uh, that would be a NO!!! And to think that people comment all the time about all the money I'm saving now that I quit smoking.......HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

How neat and organized are you?? That looks fun!!! I wish I was that talented, but I'm not...

At least you did quit the smoking. Might as well channel all that money into something a lot more productive!

You are still pretty darn organized. I saw how neatly everything was laid on the coffee table!

I loved this post!

If you are anything like me you will outgrow that cabinet VERY soon!!

I love it! Although, I am a tiny bit jealous that you have a whole room to yourself! I guess I just had too many kids;0)

Hey, at least stamping won't rot your lungs. As long as that cupboard doesn't fall over on you, you should be safe!

There is nothing wrong with being organized. My name is Christina... and I have OCD!

Way to go! I've been scrapbookiing and stamping for years. At one time I was VERY organized. Not so much anymore. So take it from me, don't ever let it get disorganized! It is really difficult to re-organize once you do. Now I think I'll go check out my mess and see what I can do about it.

Stampin Up is a lot of fun. My friend is a demonstrator and I just can't say no to buying some of those stamps!

I love how organized you are. And what a good idea with the binder!

You should show us some of your cards. I am always looking for ideas. BTW - have you checked out splitcoaststampers.com? They have tons of good card ideas over there!

XOXO

Ha! I have "shit" piles in every room of my house!

I am drooling over your closet. First because it is so organized and I wished my stuff was. Second, there is so much stuff. I am a tad jealous:)

Holy Crow. You have WAY more crafting supplies than I do... Well more papercrafting supplies, at least. I am SO jealous.

Goodness! That's how my painting area used to look before we moved from texas to Virginia. We arent expecting to stay in this townhouse too much longer (another year or less) so I havent bothered to unpack the stuff yet.

Great organizing!

You totally rock!! I can't wait to get my stuff organized again! You're an inspiration! Love it!

Yeah, I'd say you're not saving much money now that you've quit smoking, but I can guarantee you that stamping is better for your health that smoking!

Ryan Ashley Scott said...

You must be the queen of organization to fit ALL that stuff in there - and your room still looks pretty uncluttered to me even with all that extra fun stuff!

Congrats on quitting smoking, btw - I've been meaning to say that for a while, but always get caught up in your post and forget. It's a hard thing to do (I know!).

I'm lovin it :]

I love those little chicks! Adorable...

This post represents exactly why I haven't given in to the scrapbooking thing. I know my house would be taken over by my *latest* obsession, and I don't have any more room for any more obsessions. [:

Oh. my. WOW! Look at all those supplies! How I would love to have all that crap... um, I mean craft supplies!

Jennifer said...

I'm glad you have all that stuff. Guess what I got today? A CARD!!!!!!! YIPPY!! Oh and guess what else? It's not crapola! LOL
I LOVE IT! It's so cute, and it's hanging on my fridge. Thank you.

Wow, it looks great!! I'd love a room like that, but I'd need to actually GET a hobby first!

OMG, you just started SU in January of this year and your stamp collection is that big already? Girl it's only March...the way you're going, you're going to be needing a house just for your stamp.

But I'm totally with ya on the stamp obsession...my hubby is constantly asking me if I have enough stamps yet, like I can ever have enough stamps. I love the filing system about the stamps, I've never thought about that before. I did a file folder about the inks I have and I'm working on making a kind of a filing system for my hole punchers, just a bit on the lazy side right now.

Totally love your blog.

And the truth finally comes out! Now we all understand why you quit smoking...to trade one addiction for another! LOL

Seriously though, my stuff would never stay that organized for long. You look ready to make a car for anyone, anytime, for any occasion.

a well used room is better than a room not used at all. my house on the other hand is not full of well used rooms, but CRAP we don't need all over the place! SAVE ME!!!
