I made some breakfast...

I made Cinnamon Pull-apart Bread!! Can you smell the cinnamon goodness?? We call this Monkey Bread at our house too but I didn't call it that originally here because I have no idea WHY it's called that! I mean it doesn't have bananas in it or anything, lol! Here is the recipe - it's a cinch!! I made a double batch, but the cinnamon sugar was the same - I just didn't have to throw half of it away like I do when making a single batch.

3/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
2 cans (7.5 oz each) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

Preheat oven to 350*. Cut biscuits into quarters. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a medium sized bowl. Roll dough quarters in cinnamon sugar. Place HALF of the biscuits into a sprayed bundt pan, then drizzle with half of the butter. Repeat with second half of dough and butter. Top with remaining cinnamon sugar (I didn't use it all though!!). Bake 40 to 45 minutes until golden. Cool in pan a few minutes before turning over and placing on a plate. Enjoy! This recipe is from Kraft Food & Family Magazine.

OMG, My husband's family also calls this monkey bread. MIL made this on New Years Eve with the grandkids. We got some the next day and it was GOOD! Of course I ate it all. This was before my "eating better thing" started.

Your Monkey Bread looks so good! I think I O.D.'d on it over Thanksgiving. I was making Monkey Bread every other day! I like to make it in mini loaf pans for just myself.

I always figured it was called Monkey Bread because you pick at it...like monkey's pick at one another. Kind of gross when I think about it now (the monkey picking thing)!

Thanks for sharing! Looks good! My Godmother, who passed at 97, also made monkey bread, but without the cinnamon and sugar, and the dough was made from scratch lol. I'm talking about rolling dough and cutting it into circles with a drinking glass. It was so buttery and yummy! I am definitely going to try this recipe. Sounds so easy! (Never did ask her why they call it monkey bread lol)

Monkey Bread! Yay! Funny, I haven't made this bread in years but was just thinking about it last night -- and poof! here's the recipe. It must be fate... lol Thanks for the recipe.

My aunt makes monkey bread all the time. She drizzles a sugar icing on it after taking it out of the bundt pan. It's definitely best when still warm.
