Smoochiefrog's Ornament Exchange!

Forgive the terrible picture, but these are really lovely!! Smoochiefrog hosted this exchange, and she was the one who sent me these beauties!!!! I got a lovely "smoochiefrog", a pink tiara (well I AM the Queen after all!), and a German pickle ornament! Thank you soooo much Smoochie Girl!! I hope the ornament I sent to Crystal gets to TX really soon. This was really fun to be a part of and who doesn't love great mail?!?!?

Edited to add: According to German tradition, the pickle brings good luck. After all the other ornaments were hung on the tree, the pickle ornament was hidden somewhere within the branches. On Christmas morning the first child to find the gherkin was rewarded with an additional small present left by St. Nicholas. The pickle tradition encourages youngsters to enjoy the many ornaments on the tree before checking to see what St. Nick has brought them.

Ok my friends were worried that my husband's family may be crazy. I had never heard of the German pickle ornament until I met him. I told my friends about it and they made some x-rated remarks about hiding a pickle LOL.

I've never heard of a pickle ornament, I must need to get in touch with my German roots, lol.

My aunt loves frogs, and that smoochiefrog is adorable!

Hey, your back!! Missed your updates.

Cool ornaments. I am thinking next year I am going to sign up for those swaps. Though, I have to find a swap. I don't find those until it is to late. Oh well.
