Market Day in Kemnath!

I just have to say that I LOVE our pretty little town, and it's so cool when there's something special going on here! Usually there isn't a whole lot that we wind up buying, but I love to look, people watch, and just wander around enjoying the fresh air. We walked the whole length of the street, and at the end there was a little biergarten (snack stand) and we picked a nice table in the shade. We shared an order of fries (they are SO GOOD over here!!!) and some Coke. It was gorgeous out, but it was getting a bit warm!

Bella wearing a brand new dress, and the pretty new scarf we just picked up at a stall!

Proud Daddy looking on!

Bella thought the little fork was great fun to eat with, lol!

After we cooled off, we saved a few fries to feed to the ducks. However they were on the other side of the large pond and didn't come over, so we wound up feeding the fish, lol! Still, it was fun! Kemnath has these fish sculptures all over town, and we hadn't photographed this one yet. It matched Bella's dress!

We even looked up and found some in the trees!!

Lovely fountain, surrounded by roses!

We walked back to main street, heading in the opposite direction.

As you can see, the weather was gorgeous!!!

I loathe garden gnomes, but wanted to show you some German ones.

This vendor was selling fresh flowers, herbs and fruit!

Many of the buildings are hundreds of years old and have lots of character!

Gorgeous flowers everywhere!

Isn't this a charming home?? Love it!

I picked up some red currants (a favorite of mine!!!), and these green things. NO CLUE what they are, but they are delicious!!! Thomas hates them, so I don't have to share. They are a little sour, but really good. Do you know what they are??? Update: The green grape looking things are gooseberries! So yummy!!!

I bought this little seahorse bank, and a mini wooden rolling pin for Bella, which she can use to help me make pasta!

It was a nice way to spend an afternoon!! There are many fests going on all summer long in Germany, and I hope to be doing some more traveling soon!

Beautiful day to spend with your family enjoying the town with all of it's sights and sounds. Looks like Bella had a great time. I think Bella is the spitting image of you in that picture of her wearing the sunglasses. Nice smile, too. :)

It's hazy, hot, and humid in northeastern Pennsylvania. Not good weather to be outside, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. We were setting concrete blocks for a small wall in that project out back. (will blog it when it's done...but not sure when that will be) LOL

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I loved looking at them. :)

Beautiful! Bella looks so classy in her dress and scarf.

I love all the pictures you take--since I don't get to be there it is really nice to see what you see.

I would love to try both the gooseberries and the currants, as I've never tried either and I enjoy trying new things. You never know what you'll like, right?

I hope the weather stays gorgeous for you!

Bella looks like a movie star! I was so glad that I got to experience a couple of markets in some of the small towns/villages. Even though they weren't Christmas markets, they were still cool! :)
Kemnath looks so pretty...I'm so jealous!

Bella looking chic in her shades and scarf and new dress! What a lot of stalls. Love the cobblestone street and the houses and all the flowers. Perfect way to pick up fresh local produce and flowers. What beautiful weather. :)

Gooseberries. They make a great pie - just them like a cherry pie or in a custard pie. That is my favorite way. The sweet custard and the tart berries.
